US would not totally PWN North Korea in a war for many reasons (yes they would most likely win but not without casualty) and here is why.

All of North Korea's money goes into it's military.... Training soldiers, Providing such soldiers with gear, Jets, Tanks, etc. They have a lot of money that seems to "disappear" and nobody is sure exactly what North Korea has in terms of vehicles.

Secondly, a small country does not mean a small military, they have the 4th biggest military in the world, with... 1,106,000 Troops (on last count) North Korea's forces have grown since then

America ranks second in this list with 1,458,219 troops, but who knows, NK may have more than this now....

It'd be a pretty well matched war in terms of military size, though I'm sure the US will have more vehicles.

Do not start the argument "America has more nukes", it's a stupid argument as nobody wanted to start a nuclear war, and America would loose all it's allies in doing so.

Actually, we probably wouldn't do much at all. They would launch stuff at south, (maybe a nuke if they could manage to glue one together.) and then the south would fight back. Yes NK has a massive military but it doesn't have any resources for them. Most of their boats have no fuel so they sail, most of the soldiers don't get enough food so they have to steal, ETC. Their war would be pretty short.

Our involvement (this is only if they launched a nuke or tried to mount a full scale invasion on the south) would probably be as such: They'd launch or invade, south korea would fight them for a big, they'd call for help, we'd send over a carrier force, put another 50,000 boots on the ground and pretty much force them into a full blown surrender this time. Not an armistice like last time. One thing you didn't factor in is that while the people are brainwashed to love Kim, once they get a glimpse of the outside it's all over. The people would realize the ****** conditions they are living in and they'll rise up against the government. The world wins.

You are forgetting that as soon as North Korea attacks anything, America, South Korea and China will be all over them. They are fighting three countries here. There is no way they will win this.
User avatar #590 to #589 - kyoutu (03/15/2013) [-]
North Korea and China are allies, China has a pact with N Korea to protect it.
China is against what N Korea is doing as it doesn't want trouble with America but if it lead to war I think China would stand back.

As for S Korea, they won't attack N Korea unless N Korea attacks them, this is something they've been doing for years. N Korea has threatened S Korea many times to push them into war but S Korea is very good at waiting for N Korea to make the first move.

This isn't the Justic League of countries, this is real life, countries won't jump into a war that isn't an immediate threat to them, Hence why America stood out of WWII for so long.

Well, the fact of the matter is this:

North Korea: Soviet area equipment and hardware
U.S/Japan/South Korea: Cutting edge technology, aircraft, and Soldiers around the world.

Having more Soldiers in your military means nothing when you have ****** training, ****** equipment, and a fanatical leadership who is willing to sacrifice you and your family.

The only one truly hurt by a North Korean attack would be South Korea, just because they have thousands of missiles already pointed at the South. North Korea would never recover from the Allied attack, that's a fact. The U.S. would only have to really use it's Navy and Air Force, and maybe (just maybe) ground forces. But again, it would be no contest.

- Army Combat Engineer for 4 years. We've studied these scenarios extensively. There would be lives lost, but N.Korea is of no serious (as in, regime changing/world ending) concern.

I have this theory that if somebody dares to start a real all out war with America one of three things will happen:
1) America shows it's big hairy ******* balls and makes a ******* message out of them. That F/A-35 wouldn't just be for show - it would put ******* craters in the country. North Korea nukes California? What the **** are you talking about? There's no such thing as North Korea? The only Korea we know of is that island right under that giant ******* hole.
2) America just shows it's big hairy balls, but isn't a dick about it. They use controlled strikes to murder every politician and military leader in the country that attacked. If they continued after the chaos calmed and a new government came in - move to step 1.
3) America's rank as superpower dies as Obama goes on the air and apologizes for whatever we could have done to offend them, and we send them billions of dollars (more) a year, and give them a lifetime supply of nukes as a peace offering. We then dismantle our military and ban all weapons. Then China and North Korea come and take our **** over... Okay maybe a little bit exaggerated, but the ending is true here.

What do you guys think?
User avatar #307 to #303 - eyemeralds (03/09/2013) [-]

Then detonates them from a remote panel

Democracy in America is a complete sham.
The masses vote for who they are told to vote for by a media which is owned by the same people who own the companies which make massive profits from war and the military.
In the presidential elections, who you vote for is largely irrelevant. They are both puppets to the same people. (Look up the sponsors of the Romney and Obama campaigns - they both got massive sponsorships from the same goddamn banks).

But that is a completely separate issue, we're talking about NK here.

2. Millions of people died are you stupid? WHERE ARE YOU GETTING THESE NUMBERS GIVE ME A SOURCE. there were not and have not been millions of deaths.

oh and if you remember correctly IRAQS LEADER WAS GASSING HIS OWN PEOPLE what do you think we should of done, go oh let them die or take him out as well?

and im sorry i dont know what country you are from so i dont know what bombing you are referring to. WW2 if your Japanese that was your own fault, Iraq was a bad dictator, Afghanistan was insurgents and to find the people responsible for attacking america.

and no the war could not be avoided at all, no global community would stand by and let someone kill their own people NOR would they allow people to attack their country and others and go unpunished.

though...our tanks run off of anything combustible, our ships run off of nukes, our planes run off of jet fuel which is different than gas...but yea sure what ever you say.

the need for oil is to keep our economy afloat.

It's not.

In some ways we are. One of the very few ways is war. Sun Tzu may have created the art of war, but America has perfected it.
