The world is fine, it's the same meteorite, just from different angles, only 1 was recorded striking Russia.

Since people seem to be so misinformed, I'm going to post this on every meteor post today. The meteor did not hit the earth which is good, it weighed around 10 tons and was travelling around 30 km/s when it exploded between 30 and 50 km over the Ural mountains. The shockwave broke windows and sent debris and fragments which were responsible for the widespread injuries and damage, including the hole in the ice of a lake which is being posted and that people think was the only result of the meteor.

I'm from Russia, and it did actually hit the ground, because after it exploded, a small chunk of it crashed into a frozen over lake.

That would've been a fragment, not the whole meteor, if the whole meteor had hit the ground you probably wouldn't be commenting right now....

If this had happened 30 years ago Russia would have probably nuked us, because that looks exactly what I'd picture a nuclear strike to look like.

A nuclear strike back when we actually used nukes looked more like the scene where Stark is falling out of the sky in The Avengers. From a distance all you see is a falling object.

Now, our missiles launch into the upper atmosphere and fire downwards at pretty much a straight angle, so would it look like that? Yes and no. It would look like that but straight down.

I'm rambling. I'm like thirteen Shock Tops into the night. CURSE YOU BELGIAN WHITE!

Apparently there is a large amount of insurance fraud over there, but you kind of have to be happy about that or we wouldn't see all those great russian automobile accidents and this meteorite video

I've been told that their insurance companies require you have a dash cam to actually receive coverage.

Because people do stupid **** in Russia to get insurance money. Like jump in front of a car sliding on ice, and claim they hit you.

But I don't know how true that is... Even though it makes sense to me

Yes, something like that. What I know is, that if a pedestrain and a driver is involved in an accident it is the drivers responsibility to prove his innocence.
