Just gonna point out that 1) this argument makes no sense, it is non-sequitor, counter definitional, and ad miseracordium - it has many logical fallacies, in other words and 2) those numbers are completely made up. HIndu alone has more than 2000000 gods.

It is interesting, by the way, that someone would discount the existence of such alternative gods (especially a Christian, with the Bible as a framework). The truth is that Christians only worship one god, not only believe in one.

It makes me laugh that probably more than half the christian people who worship "God" don't know that they mean Yahweh.

just gonna point out how blown my mind is right now

2870 deities were invented, but why? what about human nature and psychology causes us to invent supernatural leaders? is there some sort of human necessity for a divine leader or spirit? what if sometimes people witness something truly unexplainable and immediately attribute it to the existence of a god?

the thought is just mind-blowing really. the fact that 2870 deities were invented throughout the 6,000 years of recorded history, that something causes people to follow things they cannot sense. whether based purely on intuition, or for manipulative reasons, these people follow something they don't understand in hopes they may better themselves, usually through some sort of sacrifice. the way that a "god" or "deit" being supposed within a social groupy can affect the lives of others in such a way that actually proves power in favor of a possibly non-existent being

>nearly as atheistic as me.

Uh....my definition of atheism may be off, but from what I know, you either are or you aren't.
Representing atheists well, I see.
