Honestly there's no reason they can't look like this now.
User avatar #183 - Dap (02/04/2013) [-]
In ten years? we can make games that look like that now...

If pokemon only looks that good in 10 years, you people will be wasting your money. In 10 years it should look at least 4x better than that.

That could be what Pokémon would look like now, if Nintendo would just DO IT instead of clinging to their handhelds.

oh and btw pokemon could look like this the next year if they wanted to but no "it costs too muc money"
#59 to #57 - anon (02/04/2013) [-]
it doesnt cost to much money

pokemon is a guarantied money maker and higher production would only boost sales further
#60 to #59 - manna (02/04/2013) [-]
indeed, but they suck on that money too much and so they keep most of it for themselves instead of giving it into developing a better game (in this case pokemon) i hate them but loved that az the same time -.-

"mario, zelda and sonic haven't had a dramatic change since they started"

2 things
1)sonic was sega, idk who owns the rights now but nintendo didn't have it sonic for the nes or snes
2) have you ever even played the original of any of those, cause they sure have changed alot, i mean if you just counted graphics and the fact that all zelda, sonic and alot mario games are 3 dimensional now, that alone is a dramatic change

Oh. My. ******* . God. I am so ******* tired of seeing this picture reposted 400 times with a slightly different caption each time and getting ********* of thumbs. And when I post work I have ACTUALLY done to make a Pokemon MOBA, it gets downthumbed into ******* oblivion. This is gonna get downthumbed even more but I don't care anymore, I'm ******* tired of this ******** .

The sad thing is that if Nintendo weren't so reliant on their same old formulas, they would make progress and have games that look like this and games that would generate interest.

Is the Wii U cool? Kinda.
Does it have promising titles? Kinda.
Is it still the same old Nintendo? Pretty much

I feel like gaming is evolving more and more while good 'ol Nintendo sticks to the same formulas for Mario, Zelda, Metroid, and Pokemon.
User avatar #208 to #189 - sketchE ONLINE (02/04/2013) [-]
whats the problem with that? clearly theyre doing something right since the franchises listed are the highest selling of all time. nintendo knows what makes a good game and many of those you will get nailed to the cross for insulting. dont like cod? general population doesnt care. dont like battlefield? general population doesnt care. dont like dragon age? no one cares. dont like mario? flamewar commence. if it aint broke dont fix it right

I don't think we will use Unreal Engine 3 in 10 years...
User avatar #163 to #128 - retributionthepimp (02/04/2013) [-]
That is an insult to Jigglypuff and Pokemon.
#103 - lazaman (02/04/2013) [-]
They could make it for the WiiU.
That would work so well. It would be single player. It would be based on the game pad mainly, only with observation features on the tv.
Dude that **** would be so og kush.
User avatar #117 to #103 - lamaswithhats (02/04/2013) [-]
I would buy a Wii U just for this one game!

Nintendo has said on numerous occasions that they will not make a Pokemon game like that because they are certain it would ruin sales of the Game Boy games.

Hope is ruined, everybody go home.

User avatar #13 - arkadia ONLINE (02/04/2013) [-]
why not just make the mmo already
User avatar #19 to #13 - rbrim (02/04/2013) [-]
Because there's no real point to an MMO. MMOs are made for several players to team up and work together to complete quests. The only "quests" in Pokemon are the gym battles, which wouldn't work with teams. We can battle against people freely via Wi-Fi, so there's not much point to make the game an MMO.
User avatar #40 to #19 - thatguywhohasbacon ONLINE (02/04/2013) [-]
Also you wouldn't be able to take 2 steps without somebody challenging you to a battle.
User avatar #10 - rhetoricalfunny (02/04/2013) [-]
I seriously think the only way to keep gaming and consoles as they are now, and stop them from evolving into soem stupid watered down **** for convenient angry birds crap is for the major players to get behind one project.

One console. No exclusives. No console wars.

Just gamers
#14 to #10 - anon (02/04/2013) [-]
Too bad that'll never happen. It would never work
#18 to #10 - anon (02/04/2013) [-]
With no competition, we would (most likely) get screwed over because we have only 1 choice.

User avatar #22 to #21 - cantfindausername (02/04/2013) [-]
Don't get me wrong, that makes sense and the cooperative teamwork of all consoles could be fantastic.

But if there's only one company like that, isn't that a monopoly?

Oh really? I thought OP build a time machine and moved himself 10 years forward in time (brought his laptop, of course) and went to the local GameShop (because GameStop just didn't really sound clingy after the massive "Stopper" incident in 2017) where he bought the newest Pokémon game, which just so happened to not require that high recommendations, took a screenshot, travelled back in time and posted it on Funnyjunk for thumbs.
