The thing is that people can trust Obama with a gun rather than a redneck who thinks owning a gun is necessary...

He stands behind his guards armed with smgs and tells you semi automatic weapons aren't necessary for anyone to defend themselves. He's a hypocrite just like most other gun control activists that are in power. And what makes him more trustworthy? Because he's the president? A person with a title slapped on?

**** stance, arm too low, improper buttstock placement, never seen skeet that low. Yeah, he goes shooting all the time.

Yeah really, he needs to move his head up and that butt is way too high on his shoulder. The only good thing he's doing is keeping his head down, so he probably took a couple practice shots before this. Nice choice of what looks like a ruger o/u though. And yeah I didn't realize how low he's shooting, must be either he's shooting at a rolling target or shooting way after the apex. Probably his first day.
#54 to #52 - niggermeganigger (02/04/2013) [-]
He said he skeet shoots all the time, I would think one of his secret service agents or anyone else there would have at least taught him a proper stance if he'd been multiple times.
User avatar #113 to #54 - thetruepervysage (02/04/2013) [-]
Yeah, when I saw this the first thing I noticed was the placement of the stock. He would have dislocated his shoulder just shooting once like that.

Then, I went to the official page where this was posed. The white thing just coming out of the barrel with all the smoke is supposed to be the wad. If that is so then the shot should be in the picture. There is none. He isn't even firing live rounds if he did shoot for real.
User avatar #47 to #34 - thepandaking (02/04/2013) [-]
I don't think the point is that he's an avid hunter, I think it's supposed to be contradictory to his views on guns.
#49 to #47 - niggermeganigger (02/04/2013) [-]
He said he shoots all the time at camp david, his body language disagrees. He's lying to gain ground with gun owners.
User avatar #50 to #49 - thepandaking (02/04/2013) [-]
maybe he shoots all the time and sucks every time he does it. Though I'm 90% sure that's media ******** that his advisors suggested for him to appeal to gun owners. I think Obama's a nice guy, but that quality about him is lost when he gives in to letting stupid appeal stunts like this go out.
not to say I support or don't support him, I just think he's a good person and forget that he's a politician.
#53 to #50 - niggermeganigger (02/04/2013) [-]
Still, lying to try to score brownie points seems a little underhanded.
User avatar #55 to #53 - thepandaking (02/04/2013) [-]
well... I fail to see what's so bad about it. If I were him I would still agree that yeah, it's a good idea to try to get on the good side of demographics that are in danger of lacking support. This is something that literally every other president has done.
I personally think it's a little ignorant to say he's a bad person in particular for doing that.
I really don't support a lot of what he's done, but I still don't think he's a terrible president.
#56 to #55 - niggermeganigger (02/04/2013) [-]
Same thing with Clinton lying about the blowjob, if he would lie about something as insignificant as that what's to stop him from lying about anything else? It's not the crime it's the cover up.
User avatar #57 to #56 - thepandaking (02/04/2013) [-]
what could he legitimately lie about that would make any impact besides votes? a white lie about him shooting a gun (which is quite possibly true, and he could just suck ass at it) is not going to make an impact on the important issues of the nation.
If any president tries to lie about things that affect the nation, they get kicked the **** out, like Nixon did. Or almost did.

My point is I don't think it means we're in danger of getting hurt economically or in any other way just because he said he has a hobby.
#60 to #57 - niggermeganigger (02/04/2013) [-]
He said he shoots all the time at camp david, yet the people who work there have only seen him on the range one time and he stayed for 20 minutes fired one shot and left. It doesn't impact the nation but the fact that the highest ranking public official would lie about a issue to gain political ground is unsettling.
User avatar #61 to #60 - thepandaking (02/04/2013) [-]
Well if you haven't noticed Bush's political public appeals, or Clinton's, or the first Bush's... I'd say get used to it because I doubt it'll stop any time soon. Every president does this. It's nothing to be worried about.
#62 to #61 - niggermeganigger (02/04/2013) [-]
When they're passing bills like the NDAA, patriot act, and NDRP, I worry about issues that this stunt could potentially effect.
User avatar #64 to #62 - thepandaking (02/04/2013) [-]
I really don't think that this little lie has any relevance with that stuff. and yeah all of that was some ******** , I agree, but that's a different story, that's just a president approving of things the public does not approve of, that's not about him outright lying to anyone.

but anyway, I just wanted you to see that this little act shouldn't be the basis of judgement.
I'm not by any means saying "you shouldn't be worried or bothered about things this president has done or will do" I'm simply saying this particular incident isn't something to be worried about.

I was lucky enough to watch an entire conversation about the presidents skeet shooting habits and how his frequency of shooting skeet may effect the nation on cnn today, i guess thats all they had to talk about while they were waiting for the superbowl to start and holy **** it was funny

Why's it a big deal if he's seen shooting a gun? I mean, sure, he's trying to limit our capacity to do so ourselves, but why shouldn't he take advantage of that right before he tries to restrict it? It's his right just as much as ours. So let's have a laugh and throw some lead at some clays, eh?

Hell, the more he does it the more fun he'll realize it is. Maybe he'll back off on the whole issue.
Wishful thinking.
User avatar #114 to #15 - thetruepervysage (02/04/2013) [-]
Because anyone with a little training in shooting a gun knows his form is **** and he would have dislocated his shoulder shooting like that. This was a publicity stunt and a poorly done one at that.
User avatar #154 to #114 - Zarke (02/04/2013) [-]

User avatar #157 to #154 - thetruepervysage (02/04/2013) [-]
He is either shooting blanks of this was photoshopped because hey claim that you can see the wad just barely leaving the gun. If this is true then we should see the shot in picture but it is not there.
