Since I was a kid, I have always been able to do this. It came to me as a surprise actually, that it's not as common as I thought it was, when I first heard about it as a kid...

I've been so close to naturally know that i was dreaming, and have been able to change small things in my dreams.. It's just never gotten further than that. Put an end to my dreams of being chased, tho, which is neat

Has nerve damaged legs in real life.

And in dreams.

> Do this while you're dreaming!

Easier said than done. I have no control of my thoughts and actions when I am dreaming. It's like a movie.

That is why you have to make it a habit.

I have had a dream in which I know I am dreaming... but I just carry on with the dream knowing full well it is a dream. I don't do anything stupid or wild for some reason... does this make me a coward irl?!

And then you accidentally go into sleep paralysis and can never sleep again

I've tried to lucid dream before and I nearly got there but I wasn't patient enough for it.

Just as a side convo...... has anyone had that dream in which you explore a warped version of a place you know?

Not like crappy dream definition, but like an actual place where the places are hilly when they aren't supposed to be, streets that aren't supposed to be there there.

Places you can actually go back to in later dreams. For me it was an entire city. ^^

yes, back when i was in elementary school i had a dream about a cottage were we used to be on a vacation, but as soon as i went upstairs it was just one big, dark empty room with people lying around everywhere.

and, i had another dream multiple times with a playground i liked going to, but it was surrounded by big hills.

finally, as in "warped version", i had a dream once that seemed to be entirely in cartoon-style

i went to saturn once

and about coming back to those places in future dreams, that is also very possible, because once you saw a dream a memory of it stays in your brain and eventually it will recall its self in a dream. our brains actually remember a ton of information, but they are stored away in so called "Long term memory" so we don't overload our self
User avatar #101 to #99 - wingates (01/31/2013) [-]
of course, everyone has that. even when you see your home in a dream, it's often a bit different, there is a extra room, or something, dreams are sort of a mix of your brain information and your own imagination, that's why in dreams we rarely see things the way they are in the real world
User avatar #103 to #101 - reginleif ONLINE (01/31/2013) [-]
Well yes but I'm also wondering if people often have such consistency with the locations.

Like your school always having the same layout......a park that always has stadium quality floodlights..... your friends house constantly being on top of the same mountain. Etc.

Now people, there is a reason why we don't control our dreams. First, the brain needs to rest, continuous lucid dreaming, causes insomnia and ****** up health. Second ever heard of dream paralysis ? well it's something that will scare the **** out of you if it happens when you are trying too much to get a lucid dream. You wake up, can't move, shadows move uncontrollably, you hear weird sounds like woob woob woob. you get a panic attack and almost **** your self. Don't play with lucid dreams
User avatar #152 to #98 - praga (01/31/2013) [-]
Best part is I never actually tried to get into this, it was always random
User avatar #151 to #98 - praga (01/31/2013) [-]
And i thought that shadow thing is not common...and yes, I was scared ******** (feeling like it was approaching to me in weird moves, I couldn´t even look at it - not sure if I should regret that). Also those weird ass sounds, echoes..and such. All true

Lucid dreams, not even once.

Interesting, green thumb for you!

I have Lucid Dreamed before....... then my dream takes control back to show me who's boss.

User avatar #96 - heeveejeevees (01/31/2013) [-]
I read a book about lucid dreaming once. got me going for a few weeks later. But i spend most of my lucid dreaming facing the computer :(
#95 - Womens Study Major (01/31/2013) [-]
that was the most awesome experience ever!!! like when i lucid dreamed, i said "lets fly" and whooosh! up in the air! flying, and then "i want to woke up" and flew to a giant white brick wall
User avatar #94 - aerius (01/31/2013) [-]
I've had a few lucid dreams. Whatever you do, don't look in a mirror or try to visualise an impossible object (like a five-sided die) while in a dream, that **** messes you up.
User avatar #93 - ewowo (01/31/2013) [-]
I keep seeing this stuff about lucid dreams and thinking:

"Jesus, I never knew other people couldn't do that."
