I actually like iTunes
User avatar #352 to #331 - thepalmtoptiger (01/30/2013) [-]
I don't see how you could. The only real benefit is its large marketplace. As a media player, it is a giant turd, and up until recently EVERYTHING bought on iTunes had heavy DRM, it couldn't be played on any other media player or device, even if it was a supported format.

Funny enough i am reading this post on my iPhone 4, and sure it is old but it works awesome, and i honestly do not care if i have to get a new one every couple of years. I hve had it since it was new and never had a problem with it.

Who the **** cares, Apple is a business and we live in a world of money. You would think by now people would understand that everyone it intentionally trying to drain every last bit of cash from us....just ignore it and use common sense, spend and purchase wisely. It's no mystery that Apple products are designed with maximum profit in mind. If people choose to waste money on many of these products then have at it.

I don't like Mac personally. I don't like the cult Apple has created. But I also don't like PC users pointing out every Apple flaw, implying that PC companies are clean and serene. The only OS company that doesn't get into a pissing contest every chance they get is Linux. But that's because Linux knows that only hardcore technicians and geeks use Linux.

Dear PC and Mac,
In the end, your main purpose is to display porn to the masses. Get over it.
#348 to #318 - thecjism (01/30/2013) [-]
I agree with you entirely. I have owned and operated every OS, The biggest difference is customizability, that's all. The pissing contest is just stupid, they're computers, use them how you want. That said, I hate the non upgradability of Mac computers. I have a $5000 mac pro that I had to disassemble and reassemble just to update my graphics card. Linux is still my favorite though.

I would congratulate you for a good post with something cool, but I'm on my laptop, so I only have personal pictures. Have a picture of my dog.

I've had an iPod mini, iPod Nano 2nd gen, iPod touch (1st,3rd,5th gens). I had the 1st gen for a year. I had the 3rd gen for 3 years so I bought the 5th gen because I used it all the time. The only way I'd get a Mac is if someone gave it to me.
User avatar #309 - Aro (01/30/2013) [-]
I hate Apple and agree with every single one of these points.

But I still own an iPod. Because who really wants a Zune.

User avatar #339 to #323 - Aro (01/30/2013) [-]
Well iPods have been around before Apple got incredibly obnoxious, and they are the most proficient MP3/MP4 player I've used. The user interface is smooth and it gets what I need done well enough.

Then don't buy one

Simple as that, no? Why continuously complain about something where there is a market. There are people that want to buy these products the way they are. When there is a buyer, there will be a seller. This is how these people make their money. What gives you the right to complain about how a company runs their business and is one of the most valuable companies in the world. Don't like it? Don't buy it. It is really that simple.
User avatar #329 to #303 - phonerstonerboner (01/30/2013) [-]
I'm sorry but the logical extreme f your argument is

"Then don't buy meth.

Simple as that, no? Why continuously complain about something where there is a market. There are people that want to buy these products the way they are. When there is a buyer, there will be a seller. This is how these people make their money. What gives you the right to complain about how a meth lab runs their business and is one of the most valuable meth labs in the world. Don't like it? Don't buy it. It is really that simple."
User avatar #334 to #329 - masterarctik (01/30/2013) [-]
If someone wants to buy meth, let them buy it. I see no issue with that. It's their money, what gives anyone the right to tell them what they can't buy? Legally they can't buy it, so if they want to buy it and they get caught, they are taken out of our society. Win win.
User avatar #338 to #334 - phonerstonerboner (01/30/2013) [-]
I agree with you but your argument can lead to a lot of holes.

Why would you upload this if you knew that there were going to be a multitude of arguments in the comments?
User avatar #301 - captinchikin (01/30/2013) [-]
As soon as I started reading this post I knew that there would be a fan of apple users causing a ********* in the comments. I prefer PC, but that's just cause I make my own, and the operating system is more efficient (for what I do, the stuff I do wouldn't even run on a Mac). Plus I've made computers for $1,000 that surpass the specs of the $2300 Macbook Pro. ...on the other side of that argument, I own an iPhone and have no problem with it. I don't use iTunes (for the reason above), there are programs that work around it (WinAmp, for example.). At the end of the day, my opinion is that Apple should stick to their Pods, Pads, Phones, or whatever the **** they come up with next and stop charging $1000 extra for a useless OS and a fancy metal case.
User avatar #306 to #301 - masterarctik (01/30/2013) [-]
But they sell like crazy. Things that look good sell. What's the point of buying any good looking car. BMW, Lamborghini, etc, all are for the most part not any more expensive to make than other cars, but cost godly amounts more. People want things that look good. If people are buying, people are selling, and people that complain about them accomplish nothing, because rich people will buy rich looking things. And that is completely ok because they earned their money, they can ******* buy whatever they want to.
User avatar #308 to #306 - captinchikin (01/30/2013) [-]
Exactly, I have no problem with it, I was simply stating the reasons why anyone who wants a computer to get stuff done as opposed to looking good shouldn't get one. It's not bad stuff inside them, It's just the same stuff used in PCs, in much cheaper PCs, sadly.
User avatar #315 to #308 - masterarctik (01/30/2013) [-]
I was mostly expanding on what you said, wasn't really going for you. Yeah the hardware typically isn't much to brag about, but damn their OS is near perfect and is tailored specifically the each and every product that it's on. I have my PC for the insanely cheap hardware prices, and I have my Mac for the amazingly smooth and awesome OS.
User avatar #337 to #315 - captinchikin (01/30/2013) [-]
Eh, I guess that really depends on your style. Again, I do things that would be highly unstable on iOS.

My 2G has been dropped in the bath twice, been in a pocket full of sand 3 times and the standby button has been jammed in from when I dropped it. I went to the Apple store and asked them to just take the back off it and put the standby button into place, no. They told be I had to buy a brand new iPod, with a £40 discount. I worked out how to get the back off it and cleaned/fixed/dried it myself, still works fine today. Customer support my ass.

My Ipod has been dropped, thrown, hit, crushed, stepped on, and got water on it and it still works like new.

Honestly, I don't care if a person uses Apple or Microsoft or whatever the hell. As long as they're not asshole elitists about it, they can do what ever the hell they want. But I don't own a single Apple product for the simple reason of the prices. But what I've got is good. My MP3 player is 1 gb, but it works for me. My phone is a flip phone from 2004, but it works for me. The most advance piece of technology I own is my PS3. So yeah, I'm not drowning in technology and I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to technology. I just use what I've got and enjoy it. So I can't judge Apple's products, but their business practices are less than desirable. I will admit that they know how to market.

ok would you like to buy a car with a warranty and is easily fix or a car that looks amazing and is beautiful in every aspect except it has a limited warranty and you can't service it yourself unless you own a mechanic garage.
this is basically what the poster is saying
User avatar #295 - admiralen ONLINE (01/30/2013) [-]
you can mess how much you want with your apple product, they just dont want you doing it and thus dont hold your hand by giving you the means to break your laptop and blame them, laptops werent made to be taken apart by amateurs, i mean if you really want to you can fix the **** you need yourself anyway just be creative
