Yeah everyone can get a job. If you did **** with yourself and went to college then you should find it easier to get a job.
"B-bb-but I couldn't afford school! Pay my tuition wallstreet bankers! We are the 99%! Now let me update facebook on my macbook and iPhone 5."
It's called scholarships and grants queer bait.
"But I'm too stupid for scholarships! Pay my fees! Free stuff!"
Well then maybe you shoulda spent time studying and working instead of watching Dragonball and playing ****** ass pokemon all day you ******* moron.
"B-b-but muh catch em alls! Free stuff!!"

Because a college education ensures a job in this day and age...
Getting an education ISN'T the problem. The job market is.
User avatar #88 to #87 - Marker ONLINE (01/30/2013) [-]
You're terrible at making assumptions.

I'm at my first year of an expensive 5-year tech school.

That doesn't change the fact that the job market sucks ass.

I'm clean-shaved, well-dressed, and well-mannered. I have access to hygiene and grooming materials each and every day. I still had a bitch of a time getting the **** job I have now. How easy do you really think it is to get a job? I know my first job I got from my first interview at the first company I applied to. I learned real ******* fast during my second job hunt that it wasn't always that easy.
User avatar #73 to #51 - sketchE (01/30/2013) [-]
yes but most of the people who complain about being poor sit on welfare and do nothing then complain that those who worked into a position where the average person all but literally throws money at them. "Athletes get paid so much for so little effort" then stop paying for their merchandise. "All those gas companies make too much money" you buy gas to drive to a place you are more than capable of alking to save ten minutes.

you may be a person with good credentials good appearence and are in a position to expect a good job. most of the people complaining arent. many are highschool drop outs with no job experience and a horrible work ethic. then they demand a job that pays more than they deserve.

trust me i know what its like. im an army commisioned officer with a degree and was turned away by three security companies and the department of corrections. i work at a gas station now. guard pay as a 2lt isnt that good so i have to work to make up for everything else.

Oh, is she referring to when their food stamps and welfare paid for by the rich/middle class stop coming as a result of this illegal immigrant-infested entitlement-drunk Obamanation not having enough taxpayers to support the new majority of "Americans" depending on them to give the fed their paychecks so Barrack The Messiah can bestow them with divine and free* money from the people who believe in personal responsibility and self governance so they can continue to have kids at their apartment and allow the Fed to govern themselves for them?
User avatar #69 to #31 - monkee (01/30/2013) [-]
If welfare didn't exist I would probably be dead, or in the sex trade.
Because of welfare I was supported as a child growing up, and because of free education I learnt all the knowledge and skills needed to push myself from the working class to the middle class in a job I love.
Stop these things and the poor will never learn how to overcome the obstacles life has presented them. You'll never understand unless you face true hardship yourself. Stop welfare and crime will increase. This means the budget wouldn't really change because of the massive spending on police resources. So what's better, a welfare state or a police state?
User avatar #74 to #69 - sketchE (01/30/2013) [-]
ill take a police state. our government wastes so much money its not funny. i dont know your situation. you may have had hard working parents and a disaster or something took all their money whatever. resent research into how the poor in america actually lives shows that they are not barely getting by. they live better than the middle class in some european countries. only 2 percent ever said they went without a place to live and 8 percent said they ever went hungry. then why are they barely making ends meet? wastefull spending

the reason many hate welfare is because it has become a joke and a scam. anyone can get it. if i wanted to i could get it because i make less than i think its 20,000 a year. but i dont need it.i actually live a very nice lifestyle working 24 hours a week at a gas station and guard drill once a month. t

his may sound a bit calous but many of the children living in a poor family are the reason the family is poor. mom had sex with a guy protection wasnt used or broke and dad disapeared. now mom has to support herself and a child which by herself a lot of time because family will abandon her. this wouldnt be so bad if she didnt keep doing this. i worked with a woman maybe 28 with 6 kids who had to work two jobs. who in their right mind gets themselves into that situation? the worst part is she just walked away one day never to be heard from again.

these arent isolated incidents either they happen all the time. people who have no reason to demand a high paying job do. then they demand the government pay for all their expenses. and what do they use their welfare on? junk. you dont know how many times ive seen someone buy piles of candy with food stamps. its absolutely sickening because i know my taxes are paying for someone i dont knows suger fix when theyve got wads of cash in their wallets.

id say im sorry for the rant but im not. 90% of the people on welfare either dont need it or are on it because its their own damn fault

I'm guessing you assume this because she's black. If that was a well-cut gentlemen wearing that on behalf of the poor, you would have said nothing. What you're doing is hiding your racism behind a bunch of pseudo-political speak that you barely understand. Your type makes me sick. You feel like an enlightened, jaded individual who believes himself to be above the "Wellfare Leeches" and "Obamalovers", but you aren't. You're a misguided, substandard fool.
User avatar #92 to #54 - mkchillin (01/30/2013) [-]
Yep, racism is DEFINITELY the point of MY argument when I mentioned nothing but economics/politics and you CLEARLY aren't a racist by going off on a tangent about race for the sake of calling me a racist when no mention of race was made.
User avatar #61 to #54 - durkadurka ONLINE (01/30/2013) [-]
Surely he didn't make that assessment based on the content of the cardboard sign the woman is wearing. It's easy to guess that she probably considers herself part of the poor due to the sign's content. It's also easy to see the sign is made out of cardboard and is crudely constructed, again insinuating a lack of wealth.

How do you know he made this guess based off of race? The fact that you automatically make the connection between black and wellfare demonstrates that YOU are more racist. He made a statement devoid of any description of races. You looked at his statement, immediately associated "wellfare" with "black", and assumed everyone else thinks in terms of black and white. It's clear that you focused on the color of her skin and he focused on what her sign was saying.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. talked a lot about not just civil rights, but judging people based on the content of their character. I don't think we've hit this point yet. People (like you) think of people as races first and THEN as people.
User avatar #96 to #61 - RoyalNightmare (01/31/2013) [-]
I feel as though you've run into the largest barrier of all between people: The inability to see with eyes other than your own. Despite what you may think. But I am observant. I can see that given the above photo, the majority of people will think that the pictured black person was one of the poor. It's sad, yes. But that is what people think, and I have no shame in acknowledging it as such. mkchillin did not hesitate to spew off a rant on welfare and Obama worship. He generalized the entire lower/lower-middle class.

He worded it in a way to be able to deny racist intent. He knew someone would say something regarding him being racist, just so he could point out how they "were more racist because they said it, not him". That's childlike "trap" logic, and I have no patience for it. I don't want to assume anyone is racist. But this is the internet, and we're people. We are all, in some way or another, inherently racist to a degree. There's no point denying it. I know I said I wasn't racist earlier, and that's true to the extent that it can be. I don't believe in racial superiority, and I don't fall prey to common stereotypes.

Sorry for the long reply, but this happens too often. I'm not going to pretend that I'm any better than anyone else - I know I've made my mistakes and assumptions. However, mkchillin hides behind his faulted logic. He'd make a good politician, but certainly for the wrong reasons. I wish you a good day, in all sincerity.

>Implying rich people are incapable of altruism. I mean, **** , look how many charities, funds, scholarships, and other **** are set up all around the world to help the poor. People aren't unwilling to help their fellow neighbors.

I know cynicism is the "hip" thing these days, but it's okay to have a little faith in humanity.

Those are more to dodge taxes than altruism. Some of those programs may help some people, but that is more of a side effect.
