eve-online....we meet again
User avatar #279 to #214 - generaljosh (01/26/2013) [-]
Why would whoever changed it put 'required' in front of gaming skill...?
That doesn't even make sense

You left out EVE Online. It's difficult, but the game's mechanics become clear in time. Five years and three boxing like a champ.

Inb4GoonSwarm.

Oh God Goonswarm...Still feel for them at the loss of their Diplo..

The vile rat guy?
#433 to #350 - nobleknight (01/26/2013) [-]
Yeah him. He was one of the US Diplos in Libya that got killed in the attack. He was a real life friend of Mittani.
User avatar #435 to #433 - savannahijack (01/26/2013) [-]
Damn that's a hard hit for them
#436 to #435 - nobleknight (01/26/2013) [-]
Yeah the considering the last message Mittani ever received from him was "GUNFIRE"
#438 to #437 - nobleknight (01/26/2013) [-]
Yeah, I honestly felt bad for him. I was so angry to have a member of EVE die like that. It's like we lost one of us ya know? Im not even in Goonswarm.

Reminds me of how I was playing it yesterday and 5 dwarves died because of a piece of cloth. I think there was a Murphy law about this. If you're prepared for every possible way that things can go wrong, then a new way will pop up that you can't prevent.

I ******* love OP right now. This game may have devoured my soul and free time, but it's more fun than pushing a swagfag down some stairs.

What the hell. Apparently, if you play DF, you will at one point actually experience some sort of temporal shift and travel to the past. In addition, the game has the ability to exist in two or even three different difficulty states (y-axis) in the same x-coordinate, in other words, at the same time.

Conclusion: Dwarf Fortress is some quantum **** , yo.

It's true... I swear to god from my initial picking up the game to my now many years of experience with it... It's true. I almost want to say the starting point should possibly be even higher though. :/

I don't remember my time warp being nearly that large when learning how to play
Dwarf Fortress

Did I do something wrong?

I just don't like seeing Starcraft lumped in with Halo. It just doesn't sit right with me.

Starcraft should probably be a bit steeper.....
but yeah, that accurately represents dorffort.
User avatar #324 - imnotkickthecat (01/26/2013) [-]
Spreadsheet online is not that hard, and it is boring.

I have played chess games more intense than any -10 blobwarfare in nullsec or any small scale pvp roaming.

It is only ever fun if you install a 3rd party software and actually talk with other people.

Ill stick with my guildwars2 for my mmo needs thank you.

i was damn good at eve and i never really gave dwarf fortress a shot, eve is just too god damn boring in my opinion, yes it has a lot of finess and complexity but once you do all of it you are simply sitting at your computer waiting for trade ships or miners of for the enemy to blow up or reinforcements, for me its a game all about waiting...and while i consider myself rather patient ...im not That patient

Why is HALO higher than Starcraft at any level....?
User avatar #64 to #56 - masdercheef (01/26/2013) [-]
Probably because Asians don't play Halo as much as Starcraft.
User avatar #68 to #64 - Nullifier (01/26/2013) [-]
Why does that make there be more required skill for HALO than for Starcraft? That's where you lost me
User avatar #85 to #68 - masdercheef (01/26/2013) [-]
Because, early on in Starcraft you'll probably be either playing against the computer, or friends of yours- and friends might go easy on you. Later, though, people are likely to be much more serious about it, and you'll be playing against those guys who can crush you in ten seconds flat (like Asian competition players.) For Halo, you usually get put into matches by rank, and by the time you make it to a high rank you can usually fight well enough against others.
