I imagine being burned alive while trying to sword fight is pretty difficult, so we better keep the destruction magic to the side.

>Implying you can't get shot while sleeping
And they don't even have to be in the same room to do it, that's why sword fighting is for gentlemen who actually need training to be proficient and stylish while guns can be used by any peasants and need less training

You have obviously never punched something with knuckledusters.
Here is one I made out of steel. I've been thinking of adding half inch spikes to it, but that would make it less practical to carry in your pocket.

********. You can't kill anyone with one hit unless the duster is huge and you make a perfect hit. Gotten hit with a few, mostly in the chest and face, but they're not weapons of mass destruction. A bat hurts more if you get a good swing.

Crushing someone's skull with brass knuckles is entirely possible. There are photographs of it.
The weight of them has little to do with their effect on bone and flesh.
The thing that makes them more effective than normal punches is simply that they focus energy on a rather thin metal ridge, rather than on your large relatively soft knuckles.

And your boasting about being hit in the face with brass knuckles and saying "it's not so bad" seems untrue.
I've been hit in the face with a 7 iron, I assume that is roughly the same, and I can guarantee you that there is no way you're just dusting yourself off from that and walking away.

I never bragged about being hit with knuckle dusters, it's just the way it turned out. I try to avoid fights.

Nevertheless, you're wrong about the golf club. Hitting someone with an object rather than changing the force of your hand will almost always be far more brutal. Try thinking of a thrown ball. You'd try to get the swing on your arm rather than shove it away from you. An object like a 7 iron will have much higher speed, weight and better trajectory.

Yes, the golf club is much faster, and it transfers energy to the target much faster.
But the brass knuckles have the entire weigh of someone's arm behind it and the energy transfer lasts much longer.

The golf club shatters, the brass knuckles crush.
Both are capable of inflicting serious injuries and/or death.

Obviously if you want more damage you combine the two. Leverage from a long handle and, weight , and an edge to focus the blow. What you get is something like a mace or an ax. Both of these are obviously far more deadly, but neither one is very concealable.

Pic related. It's a steel mace I made when I was a teenager.

7 Irons have an edge which can crush.

Also, the knuckle duster is an extension of your fist. An object you swing is an extension to your arm. In that respect, a club is far more lethal.

You can punch open coconuts with ease (but it kind of hurts) so cracking open someone's skull shouldn't be much harder.

Bit different because of flesh and skin. Just because karate champions can break a brick in two with a single punch doesn't mean they can sewer your arm off with a chop. You have a whole lot of layers in your skull that will protect against getting crushed. That said, you can sprain it pretty well.

Have you examined a real human skull?
I have (my friend was given one by his grandmother who used it when practicing to become a dentist in the 40s)
Skulls are surprisingly thin and fragile at some spots.
The area around the temple for example has very little flesh around it, and the bone there is only 2 or 3 mm thick.
Caving that in with a good punch is possible with or without brass knuckles if you're strong enough.

And no, I don't think it's possible to cut though people with karate chops.
Everyone knows those are just showoff moves anyone can do, and they are done by exploiting the weaknesses of certain materials.
