For my intents and purposes, I cannot justify buying most major software titles.

I'm not a graphic designer. I just want to dick around with my drawing tablet.

Does no one think it's a little suspicious how PirateBay is the most famous pirating website, yet it has lasted the longest and isn't being monitored?
User avatar #201 to #29 - nebuchadnezzaurus (01/19/2013) [-]
"Isn't being monitored"? Have you paid any attention to the actual news behind Piratebay recently? The guy who owns it has gone through so much legal trouble (part of which is the reason the servers were moved to Sweden) that I can't commend him enough for sticking to his... well, ideals.
User avatar #44 to #29 - mcfunkdaddy (01/18/2013) [-]
its based in sweden. out of jurisdiction.

User avatar #129 to #102 - bookyle (01/19/2013) [-]
That would be the most badass thing ever.

Imagine a ship full of server racks that sails around international waters and is connected to the internet via satellite

And they can't shut you down, because you are subject to no law. You have to duel it out the old fashioned way.

Megaupload survived it's hard ships and will be becoming something more and much better, being hosted outside the US. S

It's not located in the US.

Neither was Kim Dotcom.

Well, German laws are stricter, I suppose. US government officials have no legislation outside of the US, mostly, and maybe they just can't get the Swedish government to act.

It's things like this that remind me of why I love the internet XD
