I don't think Camelot was on Avalon... Avalon was an island that eventually disappeared as Christianity wiped out all of the pagan groves in Britain... Arthur, Mordred (in some versions) and Morgan la Fay were the last one's to cross onto the island. Camelot was a legendary castle somewhere in Britain, but not on Avalon.

I loved the story. I enjoyed it thoroughly. But it doesn't change the fact that in comparison to Star Wars and lord of the Rings it feels like it ripped off both of them.
