I wish people would stop trying to justify the picture, I mean, I'm American, but i don't care how big of a rock I can lift.
#59 to #32 - John Cena (01/18/2013) [-]
because americans are stupid enough to be easily butthurted.
User avatar #42 to #32 - reaperriley ONLINE (01/18/2013) [-]
Its because everyone likes to rip on america and see the reactions they get.
#45 to #42 - angelusprimus (01/18/2013) [-]
That's because people GET the reactions.
You make fun of England you get "Ha, ha, bloody right, old chap!"
You make fun of Canada you get "Ha, ha, I'm sorry if I'm laughing too loud."
You make fun of Germans you get... ok Germans just go "Zat is nicht funny!" but they don't get offended.
But if you make fun of America, boy do jimmies get rustled.
That's why Americans get so much poked, because reactions are precious.
User avatar #63 to #45 - elitejerkz (01/18/2013) [-]
Don't see an Australians raging when EVERY SINGLE PICTURE (relating to australia) gets flipped upside down. Just thought i'd add to the list.
User avatar #46 to #45 - reaperriley ONLINE (01/18/2013) [-]
Its the prideful thing about the american culture. Me, personally, I give my friends reacts when they tease me or something to get a good laugh but its always in good fun. But people do get their jimmies rustles because in a way they believe they are superior to everyone else. (this is coming from an american.) But even when they believe that they are "superior" much the same way a professional athelete thinks they are superior to amatures, most still recongnize basic human qualities. But yeah, people love rustleing america's jimmies.

Right, because all rocks weigh EXACTLY the same based on volume.

Density? Lol what medieval alchemist/witch doctor have you been learning from?
User avatar #70 to #25 - muchasmarcos (01/18/2013) [-]
You try to lift any of those two rocks and then you may speak.
#131 to #70 - John Cena (01/18/2013) [-]
Actually, he raised a valid point. One of the rocks may be denser than the other.
User avatar #194 to #131 - muchasmarcos (01/18/2013) [-]
So does it matter that much if the guy there is lifting a 120kg granite rock and the grandma is lifting ''only'' a 90kg dolomite rock...
#24 - iamphoenix (01/18/2013) [-]
Except that rock probably weighs 500 lbs and he's spent the last few days lifting cars.
#22 - carlsagouin (01/18/2013) [-]
I think snap city is a pretty cool guy. Eh lifts weigths with poor form doesn't afraid of anything.
User avatar #20 - techketzer (01/18/2013) [-]
Different density mineral, I'd wager.

The woman is using her whole body. The soldiers are using only their arms. I'm guessing the woman only held it up to poise for a picture. The guys on the left have to hold it for a couple hours, all the while they're running from place to place. Think about running 10 miles. Pretty bad, right? Now think about running 10 miles while you're carrying a ******* 600 pound log above your head. You're not allowed to let it rest on your head.

I'm not even sure the picture on the right is real, anyways. On a different time this was posted someone said it was from a Russian comedy movie. I can't be sure though.

It's called hell week. Those men aren't 100%. Google is your friend, bromigo.
User avatar #15 to #14 - contradiction (01/18/2013) [-]
i mean the way they carry it on the left is much more painful but alright.
#23 to #15 - carlsagouin (01/18/2013) [-]
This, though balancing it on one's shoulder must be pretty tough.
User avatar #35 to #23 - contradiction (01/18/2013) [-]
ya but compare to the other it is much, much, much easier

They're also relying on arm strength only. She's carrying it by supporting it directly above her center of mass, which is a much easier method as it uses the stronger muscles of the legs and torso rather than the weaker muscles of the arms and shoulders.
User avatar #17 to #16 - contradiction (01/18/2013) [-]
ya but they hold it for a long time.
User avatar #27 to #17 - madddeath (01/18/2013) [-]
they move it from shoulder to shoulder for up to 3 hours
User avatar #28 to #27 - contradiction (01/18/2013) [-]
i know, i've watched surviving the cut and all those things on the military channel, but i don't remember it being 3 hours.
User avatar #29 to #28 - madddeath (01/18/2013) [-]
my uncle actually tried to be a green beret (he didn't make it) he said when someone wouldn't pull there own weight the entire group was punished and had to do it longer his was around an hour or so he says some went for longer but it doesn't happen the 3 hours very often
User avatar #30 to #29 - contradiction (01/18/2013) [-]
i know that if they mess up they have to go to a much heavier log
User avatar #31 to #30 - madddeath (01/18/2013) [-]
i forget how much they weighed but i for some reason want to say 1200lbs? im unsure memory is blurred could be a completely different weight than that
