As much as I like the new Aquaman being awesome and ****(I love how they adressed the old jokes like "Did we get upstaged by aquaman?" and "Don't you talk to fish or sum ****?") You have to admit he's sort of an asshole now.

Can breath underwater and talk to fish... he has all the superpowers of Spongebob... Well, except Aquaman can't make shaped bubbles.

Spongebob: 1
Aquaman: 0

Fairly sure Spongebob can't breathe on land and can't lift 2 tons. Nor can Spongebob communicate with aquatic creatures telepathically. You ass.

"In the episode Tea at the Treedome, SpongeBob and Patrick nearly die when they are in Sandy's house, and have to wear glass fish bowl helmets filled with water, but when they're above water, the air doesn't seem to affect them at all. This is probably because Sandy's Treedome does not have moist air, unlike an island surrounded by water, which would have moist air, which would explain why SpongeBob and Patrick didn't dry up until they were under the heating lamp in The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie. In the movie the beach outside Shell City should also be dry unless the cold air prevents the water from drying too fast."

So yes, he can breathe air.

Also he can easily lift Patricks rock. Patricks rock will weigh roughly the same as concrete, about 2 ton/yd³ So he can lift more than 2 tons every time he goes and visits Patrick. Considering how big they are, it's roughly that size and he lifts it with no problem.

SpongeBob may be telepathic, and a few episodes may prove that he is:
1. Dying for Pie- Spongebob says hi to Mr. Krabs in Squidward's thoughts.
2. Sleepy Time- Spongebob affects his friends' dreams.
3. The Great Snail Race- Spongebob asks Gary "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Gary thinks about T.V, Spongebob replies negatively.
4. Big Pink Loser- Spongebob thinks "At least I'm safe inside my mind". Patrick thinks the same, Spongebob screams. The only way to know what Patrick is thinking is that Spongebob is telepathic.

My argument is justified. Thumb me down and be butt hurt but I'm right unless proven wrong.

spongebob would only be about 3 inches tall considering the fact that an average sized pinaple can provide a large 3 story house the "3 ton rock" would be proportional to his size but in reality is a large pebble at best. he is constantly beatan by multiple sea creatures and cannot lift more than a stuffed animal. he even had a contest to see how long he could survive on the surface in which he did not last more than a minute before becoming prey for a bird

I'll heed about the strength. Sponge bob is roughly 4-5 inches tall and he is shorter than Patrick. Patrick would be about 6 inches tall and his rock is as big as he is. So you are correct, I was proven wrong about the strength.

However, the question wasn't if he could survive long above water the question was can he breathe air. My answer still stands. He can breathe air. He is vulnerable to prey and to drying out... it's not a question of weather he can breath air... to which he can.

Cthulhu also has stronger psychic powers than aquaman...it's not like he's a world-devouring god that can drive men insane with a glance, control humans while asleep and not really giving a ****, or command an entire legion of demonic spawn or anything...

someone should tell marvel's writers to stay the **** away from Lovecraft's Mythos.
it's such a shame when great works get taken and abused in such a way

It's not really The Great Old One (and that's DC not Marvel), but sure Lovecratish creature. And hell, I agree that perhaps only Shuma-Gorath (or sth like that) from Marvels's Dr. Strange comics really lives up to be a primordial terror, with unspeakable powers and so on. Besides, every attempt at casting a new light on Lovecraft's pantheon is a blasphemy, the Mythos should be blurred, and full of dilemmas, uncertainty and fear - it's the power of Howard Philip's brilliant work :)
