This is why I love the internet, I feel like a bad ass just for being a bad ass, but the only dangerous animals I've seen today was a small Huntsman and a **** tone of canetoads.

sharks are actually pretty easy to kill with a knife as small as 4 inches if you know where to hit. (not considering the fact that they're trying to ******* eat you)

User avatar #82 to #64 - secondjess (01/08/2013) [-]
It's illegal to *hunt* sharks. In this case, given the nature of the sharks gills, he would've died if he'd stayed in place anyway. By the sounds of it, the diver tried to get him free at first.

He better have been putting it out of it's misery, or something like that. Aren't sharks endangered still? There's like a billion other things that kill more people than sharks.
User avatar #19 to #11 - aussiepridevil (01/08/2013) [-]
some sharks are endangered not great whites, they're quite common in these parts
User avatar #27 to #11 - barabajagala (01/08/2013) [-]
The shark was wounded, but not mortally. They wernt able to kill it with spear guns and other guns. So they used a pully to pull it up out of the water. The shark was trapped in some tuna nets - it couldn't get out beyond there and I think killining it was necessary. If they had cut the net then the shark would have been free but wouldnt have been able to hunt. And Great Whites are endangered.

Find and read the article before you say something stupid.

So he killed a shark that was basically defenseless? Must have been hard. How many points do I win if I can kill a bear that been chained down?
#4 to #3 - Rascal (01/07/2013) [-]
It was still in the water, albeit in a net. So it was more like

Shark in his natural environment with a handicap VS Man severely outside of his comfort zone with a handicap

And, if you had the balls to jump into a net and stab a great white to death, that would be worth applause, but I don't think people do
User avatar #9 to #3 - vishnapalm (01/08/2013) [-]
They also didn't plan to kill it. They tried everything they could to get it out but only risked their own lives. In fact one of the divers nearly died until his friend came to help him out.
