i live in Arizona. i saw a scorpion in my garage once. first scorpion i had ever seen in real life. i killed it as soon as i saw it and its corpse lays in my garage. i still check my shoes...

By the looks of it, that is a n emperor scorpion. They are the world's largest species of scorpion reaching 6"-8" full grown and live in rain forests. Their claws, or "pinchers", are strong enough break skin and hold onto you while flailing them around a room, though they are only about as poisonous as a honey bee.
