I know the feeling man. I was hardly ever home. I didn't have much there except some toys, so I always went to the neighbors houses and played their games.

>be born in 1994
>parents weren't the video game-playing kind
>no older siblings to impress the classics onto me
>first Nintendo console was a Gamecube
>wasn't really impressed with the Zelda series when I first played it either
>feel left out of the loop when it comes to games and Nintendo nostalgia

**** being born late with no older siblings.

If I knew you irl I would ask you to come play it on my refurbished nes.
But this is the next best thing.
Once you were finished I'd let you try out Link to the Past (my second absolute favorite LoZ game), and then OoT and MM on my N64.

I'd be your older brother, and there would be nothing you could do about it.

Legend of Zelda was one of the first games I purchased on the Wii Shop when I bought my console. I think I can say I prefer the top-down style Zelda games. Link To The Past would be my favorite if I had to choose. It's a shame Nintendo strayed away from this style. I just found the third-person view adapted from OoT to be extremely tedious and a chore to play.

I love Link's Awakening. That was the first game I ever beat. I remember the first week or more of playing, I was too scared to leave the safety of the town, but I finally ventured out and it was a proud achievement when I completed it all on my own.

That's exactly what it felt like when I took KH 3D on an airplane. It was either I can enjoy a vacation with it and risk it being stolen, or thrive for 2 weeks with the game knowing that I have it and haven't even started.

I pre-ordered AC3 back in August, and picked it up the day it released. I've been waiting until the end of the semester to start it. I start tomorrow.

Unpopular opinion:

I have never liked any Zelda game.
#49 to #9 - jinkazama (12/15/2012) [-]
I never liked zelda. I had played a few minutes of some of the games and never got into it. I thought it was just the same thing each time. Go to the temples then beat gannon and save zelda.

Then i got a 3ds. And since there was **** all out for it i bought OoT since everyone always calls it the best thing ever. I ******* loved it. And then i went and played some of the rest of the series and loved that too. It amazes me how the same basic plot of save the princess can vary so much, being new while keeping you feeling right at home with a nostalgic feeling.
#46 to #9 - hauntzor (12/15/2012) [-]
Me either.

Link To the Past was okay though

As a massive Zelda fan: That's ok friend :) Every one has their opinion, i've just always loved the games ever since I was about 6 years old. I played when my parents divorced, i played when my childhood dog passed away, and i still play today. (i'm in college now) It may sound pretty lame to a lot of people but in about a year i'm getting a tattoo of the triforce, just a small one, that game really was my childhood. :)

#24 to #10 - laxitup (12/15/2012) [-]
Oh yes, new monsters, new puzzles, new stories. Around every new turn is something new, yet it "got boring" for you. What games do you play if you do not mind my asking?

It is true that you don't get the special feelings you used to with games any more. Y'know, apart from call of duty and all that **** , kids just aren't interested any more. I had to be a 'santa's helper' in a grotto for a school f├ęte 2 days ago, and around 75% of the kids that came in wanted Apple products.

My first game I ever got was Croc for the PS1, loved that game. Unfortunately, about 2 months later, we had a chip installed, and I never got a new game until final fantasy 7 and 8 for my birthday a few years later.
