I've watched this movie millions of times, because my baby brother constantly has it on repeat. The line goes.

"Everything in this room is edible. Heck, even I'm edible. But that's called cannibalism, and is frowned upon by most societies"

Actually no, I'm pretty sure he says eatable and not edible.

All right I'm going to say it because everyone is thinking it, this version is better, it's so much closer to the book, the only reason some people like the first film is because it's a childhood thing.

I liked the Vermicious Knids and their weird pride in spelling the word "SCRAM"
I dunno, they always managed to make me laugh as a child and I was a little disappointed that no one made that into a movie sequel. It wouldn't have been an amazing sequel but I would've liked seeing it.

I don't think that's the writers fault, that's just how Willy Wonka is. He's got the genius but still child at heart thing going on.

This version ruined Charlie and the Chocolate Factory for me. Willy Wonka is not supposed to be a pale rapist.

The movies are actually based on books, and the Johnny Depp movie is much closer to the book, the Gene Wilder version has a number of differences, one of the biggest being the title, the book was called Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Charlie was the main character, but the Gene Wilder movie was called Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory., Gene Wilder's Wonka was also much meaner than the original character.

I agree, most people who love the new version like sucking Johnny Depp's beautiful cock and Tim Burton's anal hair.

Really?

I can watch both versions and be entertained because I'm not a whiny film elitist.

You said it ruined the original for you. If you say the remake ruined the original I interpret that as you being a film elitist.

Honestly, I liked Charlie and the Chocolate Factory better.
Gene Wilder is an amazing actor, better than Johnny Depp, but I preferred how Johnny Depp portrayed that specific role.

I know Funnyjunk loves Johnny Depp, and I usually do too, but I realllly ******* hated this version.
Especially the 'Willy Wonka' song the stupid robots sing. It will never ever leave my head.
Willy Wonka, Willy Wonka, he's the famous chocolateer...

Weird. I'm not really a Johnny fan, but I loved that movie. The classic is ofc the classic. I can't say which one I like more, tho, as they are completely different.

Dat moment when you find out the other person that really wanted the role is this man (who is also one of Depp's bestest friends and who Depp's version of Wonka is based on)

Teach them about cannibalism!

Then we'll have real zombies to fight!
