Twinkies were thought to be able to survive a nuke, because of their massive amounts of preservatives. Roaches, because of their intense resistance to radiation.

BUT NOW WHAT ARE THEY GONNA EAT WHEN WE BLOW OURSELVES UP??

poor roachies... they have feelings too...
DAMN YOU HOSTESS!!

Actually mythbuster disproved the whole survive a nuclear war thing. The initial blast is capable of killing any living organism it touches and cockroachs handle radiation poorly. Fruit flies and ants can both handle more radiation than a cockroach.

They can survive the radiation, not the explosion itself.

You know they can't actually survive a nuke. It means that cockroaches as a race would survive a nuke, not individuals.

You can drown a cockroach, and then cover it in salt. the salt will absorb the moisture and he'll come back to life

Pfft, a cockroach wouldn't want to compete with a tardigrade in 1,000,000 years.

These little creatures are ridiculously tiny. I'm talking single-cell organism scale. Yet they can withstand environments so extreme, that they can actually survive out in space without any kind of life support. Oddly enough, they can actually be found pretty much anywhere, generally on leaves or in moss. Check http://sun [DOT] iwu [DOT] edu/~tardisdp/tardigrade_facts [DOT] html for more info.

actually they never said that i could survive and explosion. they said it could survive a nuclear FALLOUT. meaning it is resistant to radiation. if a nuke went off next to it it would die. no exeption. BRING ON THE RED!

Physically impossible for the universe to contain such levels of gar at one time. Nothing would survive.
