...gyarados is a dragon
User avatar #92 to #88 - thirdasscheek (11/22/2012) [-]
Nope, while it is technically a dragon, it is not a dragon type (water/flying). But most people would make this mistake so I forgive you sir.

User avatar #109 to #92 - curtkobain (11/22/2012) [-]
It wasn't a mistake. I wasn't referring to it's type. He's a pokemon dragon.

"Gyarados is a large dragon Pokémon, resembling dragons seen in Chinese mythology."

User avatar #150 to #149 - heartlessrobot (11/22/2012) [-]
If it's a real job, you're obviously going to be wearing sleeves. Tattoo no longer visible.
#152 to #150 - John Cena (11/22/2012) [-]
Because applying for job is so simple like this eh?
>Apply
>Get job
>Done

Ever heard about test and qualifying? or do you even know about interview?
User avatar #154 to #152 - heartlessrobot (11/22/2012) [-]

Ha I'm pretty sure the artist used this one as one of his reference points while drawing this.

As a person who has been considering getting a Gyarados tattoo for about six months now, and is also friends with an artist willing to give me a good deal, I have a few questions, if you don't mind.

1: Do you think you'll ever regret getting it?
2: Did you base the tat on an image or is it original?
3: What do you think something on more or less the same scale as yours would cost normally?
User avatar #95 to #93 - ajewperson (11/22/2012) [-]
I will without a doubt always love this tattoo, My artist looked up several pictures as references to draw an original one, This cost me $200, but I am friends with the artist and he cuts me deals, really it all depends on who you know and where you are and how good the quality of the tattoo is.
#110 to #95 - John Cena (11/22/2012) [-]
Did he try to make it like it was exploding from the skin? if so he did a poor job at it.
User avatar #122 to #110 - ajewperson (11/22/2012) [-]
No, the uncolored part is for later, this is part of a sleeve, and those are waves, eventually the part below will be an underwater scene with more water pokemon in it!
User avatar #96 to #95 - tomesponja (11/22/2012) [-]
Thanks! Really.

Like I said, I also know a decent artist who could give me a decent deal on it, but I've been really indicisive about it, seeing as it would be my first. If I wanted I could go and get it started on tomorrow, but it's worry that's holding me back.
User avatar #98 to #96 - ajewperson (11/22/2012) [-]
I'd so go for it, I feel really good about mine, it doesn't hurt at all, just make sure to take proper care of it!

It's just what the artist wanted to start with haha

I'm a tad confused. Your arm would be red as **** . Not only that, it took him 3 hours to do the outline AND color it in? I've never seen anyone get a tattoo with a scale like that and have it colored the same day.
User avatar #84 to #80 - ajewperson (11/21/2012) [-]
I got the outline a few weeks ago and the coloring yesterday, just the coloring took 3 hours and the red had already faded, this was a few hours after I got it, I don't really get much redness or bleeding from tattoos.
#123 to #84 - John Cena (11/22/2012) [-]
Ah that explains it. Just to clear it, I wasn't calling you on ******** , honestly was confused. :3

#6 - whymewhy (11/21/2012) [-]
even though i dont like pokemon and think you are going to regret getting that done later in life that is great quality work, how much did it cost you?
User avatar #8 to #6 - ajewperson (11/21/2012) [-]
All together $200, my tattoo artist is wonderful when it comes to color and detail.
User avatar #58 - georgepowizzy (11/21/2012) [-]
Its a really awesome tattoo don't get me wrong, but i personally wouldn't get it done. When i'm retired at 60 and i have a massive blue Gyarados on my arm i probably wont even know what a Gyarados is, neither will any of the other retired pensioners, or any of the children of the generation because lets face it pokemon will have died out, and even if it doesn't, its future does not look bright with the new generation of pokemon.
#61 to #58 - ragged (11/21/2012) [-]
It's survived this long, and it ain't dying down soon.
User avatar #105 to #58 - ZenMacros (11/22/2012) [-]
Its future doesn't look bright based on what exactly? If you haven't noticed, Pokemon is still huge and sells millions. Just because YOU don't like the new stuff doesn't mean it isn't good.
User avatar #207 to #58 - georgepowizzy (11/22/2012) [-]
p.s i love pokemon, im not hating on it lol
#65 to #58 - rdunc (11/21/2012) [-]
how could anyone forget pokemon? do current pensioners forget frank sinatra? And even if everyone (yourself included) forget what pokemon was, it would still serve as a reminder of how badass your childhood was. Also new generation isnt that bad, i mean have you seen this badass? Its a ************* dragon... with three heads. I want you to think about that.
