**** man, a couple days ago i took a picture from when Obama just got elected, and a picture of him during his recent speech when he got re-elected.

I swear he looks 20 years older, his hair is getting gray and he got way more wrinkles, it really show how much stress is on the president.
User avatar #238 to #227 - thelastprothean (11/13/2012) [-]
No kidding. I would hate to be the president. You have to make decisions that can potentially make a lot of people lose their job, and no matter what you do, you are still hated by about half the population.
User avatar #553 to #238 - hauntzor (11/14/2012) [-]
Not to mention being hated by the people who ELECTED you in the first place. Talk about being betrayed.

Imagine needing heart surgery but not having the money. Insurance would've been a good idea, huh?
User avatar #215 to #179 - amidgetwalrus (11/13/2012) [-]

User avatar #220 to #215 - randomserb (11/13/2012) [-]
What the actual hell?
The amount of money you receive even on minimum wage is more than enough to be able to eat, house yourself and get around in any ******* country that's well off enough to be able to introduce welfare.
By your logic, millions of poor people should be starving annually in Europe.

User avatar #228 to #225 - amidgetwalrus (11/13/2012) [-]
Im simply saying that with things the way they are in America, with people on the brink of having to go into welfare, losing their home, etc.,the last thing we need is to add more stress into their budgets.
User avatar #187 to #179 - messerschmidto (11/13/2012) [-]
How bout insurance, or help from your family, or money from your JOB?

But no, we have to cram taxpayer dollars into the pockets of 19 year old sluts who got knocked up in college. They'll never have to work ever. They can get all the apple products and all the abercrombie and Fitch clothes they want, and keep their soon to be delinquent kid in front of the TV all day to shut them up.

And all they no is that Obama will make the "greedy, selfish" upper class pay for all of it.

Welfare should go to those who need it. People in need of heart surgery should get it. But we have some revision of our welfare plans to do,
#200 to #187 - fefe (11/13/2012) [-]
Welfare is in the american constitution.
User avatar #190 to #187 - Deeticky (11/13/2012) [-]
I mostly agree. We need to revise our welfare to make the money go to the poor people who need it and the ones who are looking for work. Unfortunately, even though an annoying number of people abuse the system, the majority of people who are on welfare are children. We can't punish the kids just because the parents are lazy..
#211 to #190 - fudale (11/13/2012) [-]
well said, I think what we need to do is reform health care and welfare too. I think we shouldn't reward people whom have kids because the state gives them x amount of money per kid. Our insurance companies are very cut throat because they have to be. Having gone through an injury, I have seen first hand how doctors take advantage of insurance companies. There is no reason to do 2 MRI's 3 sets of X-rays and 12 doctor visits for a torn ligament in a back. In all honesty both our systems are flawed, but I don't think we will ever change. I hope the next generation of politicians will address the issues instead of just telling us what we want to hear, and doing nothing after they are elected. Love this country but understand why other countries hate us.
User avatar #189 to #187 - randomserb (11/13/2012) [-]
>money from your job
If you work minimum wage it's kinda hard to have a lot of money.
I honestly doubt that there's more sluts living off welfare than people who actually need it. Ask yourself why it's employed pretty much everywhere in the world if it's so useless.
Where I live, if I needed surgery I wouldn't pay **** . In America, you'd have to spend a lot of money from your savings, which could be a big blow to your budget.
#195 to #189 - fefe (11/13/2012) [-]
Well, here in NY, I GUARANTEE you more undeserving people are on welfare than those who need it. Its sickening. Most of them live in the projects and drive escalades, wear $200 sneakers, have the newest cell phones, etc. They have time to camp out 24 hours for a pair of Jordans, and not enough time to look for a god damn job? Give me a break.
User avatar #199 to #195 - randomserb (11/13/2012) [-]
Then the solution isn't taking away welfare, but monitoring it more closely.
User avatar #232 to #199 - darnhyena (11/13/2012) [-]
And it should be a absolute requirement that if your able body/good health/etc that you have to try getting a job. And to help with those who are having trouble finding a job, they can try to set up some system for community labor around the town/city your in, so you are at least still working for it. Just my opinion that if you are someone living off government money, and your in good health, can work, move about, etc, then you should at least be working for it.

but Bush wasn't good at the first one, so he did it more like the second frame. People are expecting that level of leadership, though.
