So, you could actually paint it and use it as a movie prop?
Interesting... But it would look nicer with a grip on the side.

It'd make your hands wet and slide out as you try to drink it.

would you take off the mug by heating water around it too, or will it slide out easily?

I thought a chunk of the mug had been cut off and the water was magically staying inside for about a minute...

OP reposted, and stated the name of the person he copied it from like a good citizen.
It's a bad sign when this is shocking amazing dazzling and other synonyms for surprising.

so...you'll get a damn dripping and hell of a slippery cup?

no thanks! there are industrial gel-filled cups, that do the same, keeping your drink cool for quite a long

I did this once, except instead of a bottle I used a dildo ; now I know what it's like to have sex with a female frost giant.

water expands when it freezes, so make sure you do this project in a mug you don't care too much about.

I did this last year, and the water expanded, causing the outer mug to crack open and shatter in the freezer.
