Disney wont have the same actors. Which pisses me off. Also the story is over. No point in continuation.

Yeah, too bad the fountain of youth isn't covered by Disney's budget. Damn, this movie really is gonna suck. It's not like there are any other actors that would ever be good enough.
User avatar #159 to #137 - lolshadowjewtwo (11/03/2012) [-]
Mark Hamill could play an older Luke in maybe Episode 8 or 9. IF they continue the episodes that is.

How the **** would they use the same actors?
User avatar #236 to #154 - curtkobain (11/03/2012) [-]
The trilogy is after episode 6. Meaning they will probably be older. So depending on how far they show it's possible for hammil to come back as well as other actors

I heard that they want to have Luke, Han, Leia, etc, be about 60 years old in the next one.
#151 to #137 - Sins (11/02/2012) [-]
Some of the old actors are going to make cameo appearances. Also it is supposed to be much later in the time line, when all the old characters are aged.

User avatar #152 to #144 - lolshadowjewtwo (11/02/2012) [-]
Mark Hamill MIGHT be old enough to play Luke IF that is they continue to do episode 7, 8, & 9. ONLY in 9 maybe though.

Actually Disney is the best thing that has happened to Star Wars in a long time. And the best news is George Lucas isn't directing. He only directed five movies in his lifetime. three of them were starwars. Steven Spielberg even asked if he could direct one of the starwars movies. But George Lucas wanted to do it himself and messed it up. There is a rumour that Steven Spielberg would direct the next movie. That movie would be insanely good. And Disney promised at least three more movies. one every two years. Come on guys that is awesome. Not something bad

User avatar #168 to #130 - thepandaking (11/03/2012) [-]
yes the Lion King, the classic that was aimed entirely towards kids.... oh wait...
and yes of course it's the same exact thing, they're good at making child animated movies, so they MUST be good at continuing a science fiction saga created from one man.
I'm not saying it'll be terrible, but I really wouldn't expect greatness because they made good animated movies...
User avatar #247 to #168 - mdluffy (11/03/2012) [-]
I'm just saying that they're not incapable of making movies and "kids movie" my ass, I'm 19 and I *still* ******* love that movie. The pop-culture references, the science jokes, the adult humor you didn't understand as a child, the shakespear references. Sure, it was animated for kids, but there's *tons* for adults to enjoy, so they don't go insane. Disney can make good adult things too I'm sure.

well I was kinda ruffled too, but that wasn't because of your post, anyway I see where you're going I just don't think that Star Wars was ever something I anticipated Disney to do, and I still find it odd to think about, I know it's aimed at a wider audience but the target audience was kids is what I meant. Anywho it doesn't matter, I'm not gonna not see it lol, and I'm probably gonna like it whether it's good or bad, I mean there's always that thought of "well at least it's more Star Wars" so I'll give it a chance whether my hipster inside likes it or not.

I'm not saying Disney makes nothing but bad movies. I also love the **** out of Lion King, but I just don't really think there is much else for the series. I will go see the seventh either way, no matter how low my thoughts on the movie are.

Think about it this way: The first trilogy was great, and the second was a crap taco, right? Now let's consider the reasons for this. When Lucas started making Star Wars movies, he had actors reading his script and criticizing/changing dialogue to make it better (such as Harrison Ford's change from "I love you too" to "I know"). When Lucas had the money to not have to listen to anyone and keep his dialogue, we got ****** movies with ****** dialogue, gems such as "You're soft, unlike the sand" and "I saw him... killing younglings". Also, Jar Jar Binks. Point being, maybe it's good that somebody else is taking a crack at this now.

tl;dr it actually might be good that Lucas doesn't have complete control over his movies, we'll see.
User avatar #173 to #112 - thepandaking (11/03/2012) [-]
I agree with you, but I'm still not going to expect greatness, one reason being that when it comes out and i expect something good, I'll probably be disappointed.

User avatar #107 to #105 - Hreidmar ONLINE (11/02/2012) [-]
Disney were responsible for the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise (the first movie at least was awesome,) some damn good classic movies, and in general can produce some excellent stuff. I don't know why everyone's so pessimistic. I thought everyone hated the last 3 Star Wars movies, so surely the director handing the baton over to someone else is good news.

I thought the prequels were good, despite not a lot of people liking them. I can see your point, but I think Disney will change the things that made Star Wars a classic series like the characters, planets, that sort of thing. I can't help but expect the worst.
User avatar #136 to #111 - lempersy (11/02/2012) [-]
Disney isn't that stupid. And they own Lucas films. They will be working together to make the movie. The movies are going to make are based on scripts written by George Lucas themseleves. The best script Geoge Lucas ever wrote was episode 7. It has tons of action. And Disney said they did not just want to read the script they wanted to see it themselves in a movie.
