You and probably thousands of others. I mean, everyone has OCD nowdays, right?
User avatar #78 to #47 - ccccmoney (11/02/2012) [-]
It pisses me off that everyone says they have OCD. I used to have it bad when I was little. Every set of actions had to be perfectly even, and have turns, even the turns had turns, which became recursive. Like using my left or right hand to eat for example. It looked something like this:

1, 2
2, 1 .....2 gets a turn to be first
2, 1; 1, 2 ..... 2 gets a turn to be first, first
2, 1; 1, 2; 1,2; 2, 1 ..... 2 gets a turn to be first, first, first
etc...

And that was with only 2 instances.
Eventually, being a little kid, I would give up after like 20 minutes trying to keep track of the recursions and watched TV or something. I was a weird kid...

Now I just have an occasional need for everything to be ordered completely perfectly, which helps when I need to clean my room up and don't want to.

More proof that he isn't OCD. OCD does not necissarily mean organized it simply means you have compulsive habits. The habit could be anything from always using 2 shakes of salt never more never less to something more extreme like switching every light switch on and off 3 times before bed.

OCD can also be the compulsive habit of correcting things, and organizing them.

"does not necissarily mean organized"

OCD does not generally reflect to having everything organized. A compulsive behavior is one that cannot be ignored. OCD is most often described as the brain trying to "distract itself" in other words OCD is most often caused my Mental avoidance by placing focus on tasks in order to distract oneself.

OCD isn't the need for someone to be clean it is closer to the need for someone to be busy. Someone with OCD could have a house that is a wreck but they clean their car dashboard daily.

Obsessive = To be overly critical
Compuslive = Sudden (unprovoked) Urging/Need

Cleanliness is more of a possible side effect of OCD but at the same time filthiness can be a side effect as well. Needing things to be correct or organized is not OCD it is merely human nature.

Someone with OCD could pass ten bookshelves overturned and then suddenly see one specific one and organize only it. The next day all the bookshelves could be overturned again but they would most likely fix only the same bookshelf.

I never said "always", you know? I have OCD, and my room is a wreck, but on my desk, everything is lined up to the nanometer. I never said it had to be with everything, just that you might have the habit of correcting or organizing.
User avatar #106 to #83 - silasdg (11/02/2012) [-]
I never said you did but you replied to my comment containing

"OCD does not necessarily mean organized "
With
"OCD can also be the compulsive habit of correcting things, and organizing them."

So my statement suggests it could swing either way and yet you following it up with yours.

Now you were either being redundant or correcting me.

I legit know a girl that does this. She's constantly organizing any thing that is out of place and every other page in her notebook is blank, she also does the light thing and has to open and close her door 4 times. She's hot though, so no problems there.
