The only thing that really rustled my jimmies was the "your children and siblings will still die fighting for control of an oil empire"

It's not about the oil empire, it's about making a secure future for our loved ones and America. We need that oil to survive as a country. If some **** Middle Eastern country controlled it all and jacked the prices as high as possible, a gallon of gas could cost 10 to 20 dollars. When that happens jobs don't even pay enough for the expense of gas and the whole economy crashes because everyone is going bankrupt and not buying the amount of goods that they normally would.

TL;DR American soldiers fight for oil so America can survive
User avatar #109 to #82 - alltimetens (10/28/2012) [-]
It's their oil and they could do whatever the **** they want with it. America just wants every other nation in the world to use up all its oil so that America will be the only nation in the world with some oil left. That's why we use almost no amount of oil right under American soil.

If I had my oil business and sold a gallon for 10 dollars, you have no right to come up to me, punch me in the face, and then sell it to YOUR people for 2 dollars.
#122 to #109 - anonymous (10/28/2012) [-]
It's kind of hard to hold that same standpoint when it's you and your family who's suffering... I'm not agreeing or disagreeing, I'm just sayin'...

Survival of the fittest mate.
User avatar #112 to #111 - alltimetens (10/28/2012) [-]
So I guess every war on the planet and every terrorist attack is justified. Why do we act like we're moral when we go around ******* with every country and intervening with a conflict between two or more countries that have no ******* influence on us?
User avatar #106 to #82 - moosewithcameltoe (10/28/2012) [-]
Okay people don't even bother responding to this anymore trying to debate me. I shouldn't have made the comment without being willing to fight through a ********* but I did so now I want out. I didn't some here to debate, I came here to laugh.

Everything I said was just my humble opinion.
#104 to #82 - UnoSkullmanx (10/28/2012) [-]
Or we can use the literally unlimited and easily obtainable amount of SOLAR ******* ENERGY. But that would mean Oil corporations wouldn't make as much money. The idea that America needs oil to survive is 100% grade A ******** , fresh from my Uncle's farm.

Capitalism at its finest eh?
User avatar #91 to #82 - cjgodman (10/28/2012) [-]
OR:

Oh hey you wanna kill our people? **** YO GAS, *****

Also, HYDROGEN CARS. ELECTRIC CARS. SOLAR CARS. These things all exist, and could be infinitely more refined if we stopped ******* relying on oil, foreign oil no less, and actually be a somewhat independent country. We are not free, because we still rely on the Middle East, while simultaneously ******* them.
User avatar #93 to #91 - moosewithcameltoe (10/28/2012) [-]
I agree with you except for the being not free part. That was borderline retarded.

But nevertheless, all of those cars do exist, but are not as pristine as we want them. It's true the average American now a days are somewhat ignorant and refuse change, so it's quite hard to switch from gas to alternative. We've been stuck on gas for so long that most people don't even consider the possibilities that could be already invented if we all put our minds together.
User avatar #97 to #93 - cjgodman (10/28/2012) [-]
The not free part wasn't completely explained, but whatever ahaha

But yes. For your second paragraph all of my yes.

Right? I wonder if water-powered cars will ever become dominant?
User avatar #272 to #86 - alltimetens (10/28/2012) [-]
Sooner or later, they're going to have to become dominant. Oil won't stay here forever.
User avatar #88 to #86 - moosewithcameltoe (10/28/2012) [-]
I very much hope so. Fact of the matter is most people care so little about actual problems, like this, that they don't even think about it.
#90 to #88 - byposted (10/28/2012) [-]
Yes, be scared about global warming and gay marriage! Those are the important issues, don't you see!

Free abortions for every woman is a sign of major progress in a country founded by bigoted old white men.
User avatar #89 to #88 - sekeido (10/28/2012) [-]
I'm still trying to figure out how I'm going to graduate with these **** grades. Not that anyone'll believe me what with this political ********* I caused, but I'm not that dumb, I'm just really lazy...

I really wish that people would stop saying "either way, we're ****** "
Did you know that we actually do get good presidents? Did you know that happens? Did you know that presidents generally do try to help the people? So please, you're probably just saying this because you don't want to put any thought into it, because it's too hard for you to do so. Stop being ******* idiots. Seriously, I'm tired of this.

I agree.
President are there to help. There are plenty of other government jobs that pay much more than being president does but candidates run anyways. Why? Because they believe they can help.

technically that isn't an accurate representation of how much we spend on education, since the education budget is divided between state funding and federal funding. i agree that we spend too much on the military comparatively speaking but it grinds my gears when anybody tries to make a point using partial truths or blatant inaccuracies.
