I still remember a show where they were performing a life saving surgery on a guinea pig. They asked the father about the cost it, he said 400 dollar, then they asked how much was the guinea pig. His response: "25 dollar but the kids love him."

**** this ****. What the hell happened to you FJ? You used to be funny, now it's nothing but 16 year olds hugging each other and telling sad stories. The MODS need to do something, start banning this **** or something.

When I was in the 1st grade, my mom brought home a cat in a box. I was hoping it was a kitten, but it was a kitten/cat (You know, that weird stage where kittens start to get long legs and such.)

He was distant. Didn't like too much company and hated everyone. Sure I mauled the **** out of that cat because I loved him. He eventually just grew to accepting it and would eventually purr at me and I would kiss him on top of the head.

I eventually went to college and my twin sister moved away and then he hated everyone. He clawed and meowed until I came home. The first night I came home from college, he slept in my lap and I didn't realize how ignored he had been since my sister and I had left him.

I've had him for 13 years. He just passed away today. He was my best friend and was here for me when no one else was. We played Zelda together and we ate spaghetti together. Then I get a text from my mom saying he went through respiratory failure, and had to be put down.

I would do it all over again. He was a bastard, but he was my bastard.

I had a cat when I was 15, her name was Opal, and she was a tiny little Siamese that we were fostering. She had cancer, and had come from an awful home; an actual crazy cat lady who didn't care for the 15 odd cats in her 1 bedroom apartment.
My mum was busy with our other animals (at the time we had 3 cats, 3 dogs, 2 horses and a parrot), and my da didn't particularly like cats. But I loved that little kitty. She stayed in the little basement living room where I could play video games and watch tv without disturbing my parents. The second I came down the stairs she would race to my feet and pester me until I picked her up and cuddled her. She would lay in my lap the entire time I was in the basement, purring away, happy to be with me, and I with her.
One day, while online, I reached down to pet her while a video buffered, and noticed she was cold. She had died on my lap, cuddled up to me, and looking content.
We only had her for maybe 6 months, and I've had many animals through my life, but my little Opal has always stuck with my heart, so happy that I gave her a loving home after the terrible one she had before.

Pic somewhat related, another cat that I lost just recently to old age.
