I guess I'll share mine.
>Be 8 years old
>parents decide to buy a dog(bull terrier)
>We call him max
>Max is energetic, playful and kind.
>as the years go by so does max' energy
>one day max walks towards backyard and falls through his feet
>He seemed to be choking but got back up, even more difficulty to walk
>Take him to vet, diagnosed with bad kidneys/kidney failure
>Max is 10 years old at this time
>Vet bill is 500 euro's without being sure of him even getting better
>We're not rich, have to put him down
>Come home from school, Max is gone
>Think about him almost everyday, nearly 1 year since he died.
Sorry for the long read

I don't have a dog, I have a ferret and they have an extremely sensitive digestive system. He ate some under carpeting and it got lodged in his intestines. He curled up in my arms and fell asleep, definitely thought he was going to die. It was the night before I left to head to Texas to visit my brother so we booked over to the vet to have him operated on-he lived through the procedure but I was so close to losing him.

I wish I had a dog though.

> get new golden retriever and yellow lab mix
> her names Charlotte
> love her to death
> one day a bunch of assholes try and piss her off by poking at the fence
> she gets pissed and jumps over (there was a part of the fence where it was worn out, so it was only 2 feet tall)
> told that she bit one of them but there weren't any marks or anything
> 4 years later, I'm 11 and I get home to my mother crying
> she needs to be given away to a different home
> sit with my dog for hours until a month later
> it's time for her to leave
> friend comes over asking to hang out, and for some reason I do
> see her look at me one last time with a sad look
> 3 minutes later I change my mind and run out to her
> it's too late
> never see her again
I'm 17 now.
Worst ******* mistake of my life.

I was tearing up at the end of this, and then I see your picture and I just couldn't stop laughing for some reason.

I had a dog named Beau, he was really sick and my twin sister said "Hey wouldn't it suck if he died on our birthday?" And I punched her.. We had to have him put to sleep on my 18th birthday (2 years ago). And my Cat, my best friend, my companion. Died yesterday morning. Rest In Peace guys.

This is exactly what I'm doing to my dogs, They're 8 and I'm 16 and it's sinking in that I'm not going to have them forever. Sometimes When my dog lays next to me at night, I cry because I'm realizing how they're about halfway through life and instead of spending time with my family i'm going out every night and getting drunk as hell with my friends and having sex and doing drugs and ruining my life. but no matter what I do or what kind of trouble i get in, she's always there to greet me when i get home in the morning and lick the tears off my face at night. but i'm never there for her....

These feels are making me feel... changed, I'm going to show my puppy more attention and love. Don't be sad friend, better a broken heart then no heart at all.

>Have Staffy called Brutus
>Parents got him before me and my brother were born
>When we came along, he used to guard our cots and prams when we were out
>Loved to play and was never aggressive, even though as babies we'd pull his tail and things
>Used to sit next to my dad when he was preparing meat as he would drop off cuts for him to catch and eat
>As I got older, he started to recognize me as another authority figure along side my dad
>Would greet us coming home from school everyday with a happy bark and wagging of his tail at the door
>He gets older and obviously becomes less active
>His health deteriorates, dad needs to get him put to sleep while we are at school
>Come home, no greeting and his basket is gone
>Walk in to living room to find my dad in tears
>For a few weeks after my dad would still drop off cuts of meat for the dog that was no longer there without thinking, only to pick it back up again, crying.
>MFW it felt like my heart was breaking see all this, and now as i type this

That part about the dad still dropping meat... It just broke my heart, You have all of my hugs, best wishes to you... I wish I could hug you right now, Just remember the words of The Doctor, friend.
