Wasn't the Red Hood a villain?

Red Hood was joker before he became joker.
Then Jason (Robin after the first robin became Nightwing) was killed by the joker. He was resurrected and came back with a vengeance. He's technically on the side of good, in that he takes down villains. However, he uses brutal and illegal tactics that often involve him delving into the criminal life itself. He's what is called an "anti-hero".

Hmm. Thought an anti-hero was a character with unknown motives.

Wait, wasn't it Dick Grayson, then Tim Drake?

The original red hood was a villain. The one in this post is a good guy.

More of an anti-hero, really.
