slugs are essentially snails with no shell, the french eat snails, the American Revolution was one with the help of the french army. Show a little more respect.

I don't think the French would have been any less capable of helping us if they didn't have frogs to eat. I mean, they still had plenty of snails, cheeses, baked good, and wine. Besides, only the most completely illogical animals only have one food source. I'm pretty sure both frogs and dragonflies could find other things to eat.

Frog legs aren't the staple of France....in other words they would have still been around.

Thanks
User avatar #10 to #9 - zarcos (08/10/2012) [-]
exactly, it is obviously dumb , so why do people think this is funny?
User avatar #11 to #10 - bronybox (08/10/2012) [-]
Because frog legs are a stereotypical food, even if they are staple. Stereotypes are funny. By transitive property, this is also funny.
User avatar #12 to #11 - zarcos (08/10/2012) [-]
Stereotypes are ******* stupid and by the transitive property so are you. Congratulations.
User avatar #22 to #12 - CrashingSea (08/10/2012) [-]
Stereotypes DO exist, which is why they are known. It's more statistics than anything. For instance, it's STATISTICALLY true that black people commit more crimes. It's STATISTICALLY true that white people tend to think more highly of themselves. I could go on but you get the idea. Stereotypes aren't as bad as blatant racism in the fact that they ARE indeed, mostly true.

shut up im reading about a dumbass getting MATHED!
User avatar #13 to #12 - bronybox (08/10/2012) [-]
Nothing exists without having at least a smidgen of truth. Even stereotypes exist because they too, hold some truth. Nothing just appears onto the face of the Earth by coincidence.

I saw a comedian, and at every show he asks for the reaction of babies, and kittens and puppies. He said something about evolution, and how odd it is that we now prefer the younglings of other species over our own

Though here's a real answer;

Scientist wondered if the quite ******* annoying stinging bastard that the wasp is could be useful in any unexpected way, and they found something very interesting; the wasp gains yeast from fruits such as grape and keeps it in its stomach, preventing it from perishing during winter.

This permitted the use of yeast (which would've disappeared otherwise) in a vital part of humanity's food, which is bread and beer.

TL;DR wasps gave us bread and beer.

what about jellyfish?
User avatar #211 to #184 - ocnamesaregone (08/10/2012) [-]
Who do you think I am, Einstein?!

Seriously though, researchers in Japan (country who has to deal with an aweful lot of jellyfish) found out several kind of jellyfishes are made of about 3% of a substande named mucine, which can be used in cosmetics, food additives or drug manufacturing.

Which is nice because some of the jellyfishes weight up to 450 pounds, so that's a lot of mucine.
