I'm from Cleveland and I thought this was a post about Dick Goddard and I got all excited because people were recognizing Cleveland...

Yeah, he was an ambisius man that never gave up on his dreams, and he more or less singlehandedly invented liquid fueled rocket technology. But let's not forget that he also played a massive part in the creation of these things.

So god damn what?

Werner von Braun perfected his technology for the V-2 which in return led him to be the lead engineer of NASA for many years.

I'm not saying that rocket technology is a bad thing, or that the brilliant scientists worked on the early rockets were evil men. I'm just saying that their work was used for evil purposes. I don't blame Oppenheimer for the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and I don't blame Von Braun or Goddard for ICBMs loaded with hydrogen bombs either.
