I think that's why they have H2, it's more history, less Pawn Shops and rednecks.
#74 to #70 - anonymous (07/23/2012) [-]
Pawn Shops has a lot of historical stuff on it. Lots of heads up for collectors too. It can pass, but only slightly.
#68 - anonymous (07/23/2012) [-]
They're most popular shows do, but they still have the documentaries and **** that are actually educational.
User avatar #64 - durkadurka ONLINE (07/23/2012) [-]
All the interesting shows I used to learn a lot from have been replaced with hillbillies on ice and the "aliens did everything for us" conspiracy shows.
User avatar #58 - McorncakeM (07/23/2012) [-]
I watch the history channel all the time and I think other wise, shows like pawn-stars do focus on items dealing with american history along with other stuff. American pickers is also a pretty good show. Plus you have to think that you can't have a thousand different specials on the civil war because people will get tired of it. I will however say that Ice road truckers makes me want to stab myself.

But they could try having 10 or 12 specials on something not completely Eurocentric and see how that goes over. I'd like to know more about pre-colonial Africa, for example.

I remember the first time Cartoon Network played a non-cartoon, I was pissed and refused to watch it for a week.
#51 - norbit (07/23/2012) [-]
Yes, their shows feature little history, but they still play many documentaries about events and origins of things of the past.
User avatar #39 - kevinhuse (07/23/2012) [-]

Best I can do is 700."

I used to like some of the shows on there. Like Modern Marvels--which wasn't fully history, but it was till good--and shows like that. Then it got taken over by these other ones slowly.

How on earth is the history channel political at ALL?
User avatar #22 to #19 - FuckOffNow (07/23/2012) [-]
Why? All the history channel does is show Pawn Stars. Cajun Pawn Stars, Ice Road Truckers, Swamp People, Monster Quest, American Pickers, Mountain Men and 1000 other non history related shows.
Although Pawn Stars and Pickers do give some history in all fairness. I also like those 2 shows.
Nothing to do with politics really.
