I agree, it was really fucking good but for the worst reason.

But when you get down to it its about him giving up/being defeated/losing whatever definition you so choose the imagery and twists from the beginning coming back were great as well. pulled a whole shamablama ding dong on ya.
User avatar #27756 to #27748 - hirollin (02/10/2015) [-]
When I think about how it was all about him fighting and not giving up and then he finally accepts it and goes home with his friends I think it's just fantastic. Easily one the best directed and well written episode in years. The fact that they are willing to bring old characters back for dream sequences opens up a whole new world for guest spots. Which I know they won't fucking take advantage of more than once or twice a season. That episode had superb writing and directing. I dunno if that happened in the comics, if it didn't kudos to the writing staff.
User avatar #27773 to #27756 - awesomerninjathing (02/10/2015) [-]
Tyreese died the way Hershel did in the comics, meaning he got decapitated by the governor

They've done the "bringing people back" thin before, with Lori and Shane appearing in Rick's head.

But yes, amazing episode.

Eh, it wasn't as big of a deal though. Just glimpses and voices. Maybe one live cameo if I remember correctly.

So there is no movies board, so i guess ill post it here.
Can anyone list some like recent (2000s+) movies that mindfuck you or have a really big plot twist/cliffhanger?
User avatar #27768 to #27739 - ferrettamer (02/10/2015) [-]
Memento (2000)
The Machinist (2004)
Shutter Island (2010)
The Number 23 (2007) (although it wasn't great, it wasn't terrible)

I liked Mr. Nobody because it has that "what the fuck" element, but in a nice way. Like, it all ties into a love story. If you're down with that then I highly suggest it, it's pretty good imo.

Gone Girl is good too.
I know this might be an obvious one but I hadn't seen it until a couple months ago so Fight Club probably one of the most famous.
User avatar #27743 to #27739 - hirollin (02/09/2015) [-]
Ozama Tezuka's Metropolis
Air Tv/ Air Movie

Those are both animes. I dunno why they came to mind. The metropolis and Air movie are movies though. Though, I'd watch Air tv before the movie for chronologies purpose.

There is one on the tip of my tongue that I just can't remember the name of.

Gone Girl might fit into your category perfectly.

GoT is changing or spoiling something big this season involving Jon Snow . Not sure how I feel about it. Seeing as this season doesn't really have a lot of material to work with for a big episode 9 climax and this Jon Snow thing is happening an episode before. Guess we just gotta wait.
User avatar #27733 to #27723 - beatmasterz (02/09/2015) [-]
That's funny since the big thing involving Jon Snow is very ambiguous in the books. I doubt gurm even knows what he's doing with it.

Minor TWD spoilers: What was he looking at in the photos? It seemed like he noticed something. Maybe he was just caught up in remembering life before everything went down, but the way his face looked made it seem like he noticed something.
User avatar #27727 to #27702 - awesomerninjathing (02/09/2015) [-]
from Nicotero himself:
"Well, when he’s looking at the picture on the wall, it harkens back to that sense of innocence lost that he’s dealt with so much. He stared at those pictures probably a little too long, maybe longing for the world the way it used to be. In doing that he wasn’t focusing on what was happening right in front of him in the real world. He was lost in what the world once was. He blinked."

well for one, tyreese being the big softie that he is, was probably sad about how such young kids (one on the bed) had become zombies

and also because he never saw the other twin so he knew it was probably in the house somewhere, and then bam

That fan made highlander movie was really good. Highlander is a series with a lot of potential that got destroyed by Hollywood. I hope one day it gets revamped.

The original movie is overrated in my opinion. It's over the top and with mostly bad actors, except for Connery. The story is great though and the fighting is pretty good too.

If there is anything that deserves to be remade and expanded, it's this film. It was ahead of its time and unfortunately made in an era of ridiculously cheesy movies. They could do great things now.

User avatar #27724 to #27697 - hirollin (02/09/2015) [-]
Which film are you talking about, the fan made animated one or the original. I love the original (rest that followed were utter trash though.) But I like the idea of continuing them as an animation instead of live action. There was a decade of live animation highlander stuff, while the show was halfway decent in its time it doesn't hold up. It's actually been more like 20 years of live action, and they haven't been great. I'll still always love the first one though.
User avatar #27737 to #27724 - eight (02/09/2015) [-]
The original movie. It just doesn't do it for me. Bad accents. Bad casting. The only good thing is the actual story. The performances, other than by Connery, are just average at best in my opinion.

And Kurgan was far too mustache twirling of a villain.
User avatar #27744 to #27737 - hirollin (02/09/2015) [-]
Kurgan is Mr. Krabs. If you don't think Mr. Krabs beating the shit out of the entire world is the tightest shit ever you can get the fuck out of my face.

how do you guys feel about them turning movies into TV shows? seems like a rising trend
Example: Fargo

I know they're doing it with Limitless and it's apparently going to be a police drama?
I just feel like that'll ruin the movie, which was really damn good
User avatar #27696 to #27689 - eight (02/09/2015) [-]
Fargo served as a sequel, actually. It was not a remake.

I didn't know about Limitless, might be interesting but I'm not enthusiastic about yet another cop show...

In the case of Hannibal, it is a prequel, a remake and possibly a sequel if it makes it long enough. I think it does it better than the moves so far, but we haven't yet caught up to the movies.
User avatar #27691 to #27689 - ferrettamer (02/08/2015) [-]
How can you ruin something that was terrible
If Hannibal counts, it's better then the movies and close to the level of the books, which is pretty damn great
