Hardcore Henry? I really don't know if I can trust a movie that actually calls itself "Call of Duty in movie form"

Engadget called it Call of Duty, not the filmmakers themselves. The quote in the trailer says it's a mix of Jason Bourne, Captain America, and Call of Duty. It seems to me like the CoD comparison is due to the fact it's a first-person action film.

I've seen some quality shit made by Youtubers, unless you mean squeakers who upload every kill they make on CoD for attention.

It's made by a guy who directed a music video that became popular on YouTube. Important difference.

dc.wikia.com/wiki/Per_Degaton_ (New_Earth)

Rip briefly mentioned him in episode 1.

Something to think about: In episode 1, Mick mentions a song that his mother used to sing to him.

In the comics, Mick's pyromania forced him to burn his house down (and watch), with his mother inside, killing her.

He had to be in juvie for a reason when he met Snart.

Even though I consider myself a huge DC fan and read a bunch of comics, there's still so much I don't know. Never even heard of this guy.
I'm prepared for more Mick feels.

I hope Snyder learns from this and step up his game.
Same goes for all the upcoming DC films.

They can't dissappoint us twice.

I'm pretty sure it's still successful financially, even considering the massive drop. I'm also not sure how much say Snyder had over the final script. I haven't seen the movie yet and won't comment on the quality, but if the script was locked into place by the studio, Snyder might not have had much say in what went into the movie.

My God, Supergirl is actually considered the best superhero TV show right now?

People keep telling me it's better, but the whole thing still sucks total ass. Even Manhunter and Flash couldn't save it from the sinkhole of terrible writing, worse acting, and SJW-pandering bullshit it was built around

I got to see Eye in the Sky tonight. It's pretty great.

Eye in the Sky is a tense political thriller in which a joint military operation takes place in an attempt to capture three highly wanted terrorists in Nairobi, Kenya. However, the situation changes when it is discovered that two suicide bombers are planning an attack in the same house. Once the operation actually starts, I was on the edge of my seat for most of the movie. Nothing is simple.

The acting is great from everyone involved. Helen Mirren and Alan Rickman play the English military officers, and Aaron Paul is responsible for guiding the drone along with his "eye," Phoebe Fox. Supporting actors include Barkhad Abdi, Jeremy Northam, Iain Glen, and Monica Dolan. The characters struggle with different things depending on their position in the film. Helen Mirren and Alan Rickman, the leaders of the operation, struggle with different problems than Aaron Paul and Phoebe Fox do, who face serious moral dilemmas. These characters face different problems than Northan, Glen, and Dolan, who consider the political problems that are brought up during the film. I was able to seriously believe in these characters and their struggles, and noticed myself siding with or against certain characters depending on my own views.

I think Aaron Paul did some great work in particular. His character's conflict is a difficult one to face, and he really sells his character's emotions. Every time he makes a decision, I could see and feel how hard it was to make.

One of the greatest parts about this movie is its ability to maintain tension while being largely dialogue-based. There are other events happening, which do spawn some new discussion points, but many of the problems arise from back-and-forth arguments between characters. It was a really effective way to tell the story. This back-and-forth did cause me some frustration, but I think the frustration was useful. In some movies, you'll get frustrated by characters making stupid decisions when the right choice is so clear, but in Eye in the Sky, the decision isn't so clear cut. The characters' motivations make sense, and it's easy to understand their stances even if you don't agree with them. Guy Hibbert produced a strong screenplay for this film.

Good job to director Gavin Hood. I still have trouble identifying the director's touch in movies, especially from people who I'm not particularly familiar with. However, if the direction was bad or even average, I know for a fact that this movie would not be as successful as it is with its story and themes. Whatever Gavin Hood did, he did it well.

I definitely recommend going out to see Eye in the Sky if it's playing near you. A very tense movie that poses interesting questions that are dealt with frequently.

Mini spoiler explaining what frustrated me and why it was a good thing: Eventually they make the call to go for the kill instead of a capture plan due to the discovery of the suicide vests. The frustration came because the people who needed to give the go-ahead to Mirren and Rickman kept referring to their higher-ups until the order was passed back down to them as a confirmation. This kept delaying the drone strike and increasing the chance that the suicide bombers would carry out their attack. However, this was a great choice for the film because it conveys the moral problems at hand. Nobody wants to make the call themselves. At one point, there's a good chance a young girl selling bread outside the target area would be critically injured as a result of the drone strike and resulting explosion of the suicide vests. Again, people start referring to their higher-ups because nobody wants to say "We have to risk the life of this one child to save the lives of many more." They want someone else to make the tough call, and this really helps show the moral and ethical dilemmas these people have to face.

Apparently Suicide Squad is undergoing reshoots to be more humorous like Deadpool. This movie doesn't have the marketing power to do what Batman v Superman did, so they're going to have to rely on actually being a good movie to sell.
