Did anyone see LA Galaxy vs Colorado Rapids?
Sick game, I'm glad I watched all of it.
User avatar #33008 to #33002 - bondofsnow (09/06/2014) [-]
No, I only watch Philadelphia in MLS. No other team is aired on television where I live.
User avatar #33009 to #33008 - jorgethemaster ONLINE (09/06/2014) [-]
Ah, watch the highlights if you want.
Fastest red card in all of MLS history happened. Like 33 seconds. And it was to the Colorado goalie.
User avatar #33010 to #33009 - bondofsnow (09/06/2014) [-]
wow, I guess that explains the 6-0 score.
User avatar #33011 to #33010 - jorgethemaster ONLINE (09/06/2014) [-]
It was an entertaining game, normally I don't care about any teams other than TFC but I like Galaxy.

nobody watched the WLS
nobody ever will watch the MLS

Jay Cutler or Philip Rivers week 1?
User avatar #33005 to #32998 - hawaiianhappysauce (09/06/2014) [-]
Rivers is playing the cardinals. Cardinals have a better defense than the bills. Cutler has a tendency to pass it to his 3 weapons, alshon, bennett, and brandon. I'm rolling with Cutler myself for now.

I have Carson Palmer and Cutler as my QBs. I think the chargers vs cardinals game will be low scoring, especially since it's week 1. Chicago has just a ton of offensive talent and the bills will have trouble stopping it I think. Worst thing that can happen is culter getting injured though.

Calling Michigan State to beat Oregon tomorrow. On that note, ESPN's obsession with Oregon and Marcus Mariota is nonsensical. They can't beat good defenses and power run offenses for shit. they are 0-1 in regular season top ten games, with his only top ten victory against Kansas State in the Fiesta Bowl. He doesn't even have a conference championship appearance.

ITT: your prediction for your NHL team's opening lineup

for anyone wondering why i don't have Kucherov on this one, he's waiver-exempt (if sent down, doesn't have to go through waivers), he could definitely use an extra year, and by my understanding, Panik and Connolly are on their last chances
User avatar #33022 to #32992 - plataeiou (09/07/2014) [-]
I completely agree, good sir.
User avatar #33024 to #33022 - thatdamnllama (09/07/2014) [-]

Smith-Pelly - Kesler - Silfverberg
Maroon - Thompson - Palmieri
Beleskey - Rakell - Cogliano

Fowler - Lovejoy
Beauchemin - Lindholm
Allen - Vatanen

With how Bruce changes the lineup so much and the rotating door at left wing, it's almost impossible to predict even close to accurately.

Also, Green Bay had a ton of penalties and missed tackles, including that hit in the kicker that extended the drive, and lead to a touchdown.

The only reason Rodgers had a TD was because of the special teams. Other than that, Green Bay couldn't get a drive going from near the 20 to the end zone. I'm sitting there looking and I see Jordy Nelson and Cobb as primary targets... that's it.
User avatar #32987 to #32986 - saltyfries (09/05/2014) [-]
tackling was a huge issue... they were playing like it's flag football
User avatar #32988 to #32987 - hawaiianhappysauce (09/05/2014) [-]
I think the biggest killer was the running game. Both on offense and defense. Their offense wanted to have a high tempo approach with a strong running game and they couldn't pull it off, they slowed down and stopped making progress. The defense couldn't make tackles on Lynch and he just ran over people.

Rodgers was getting frustrated too.
User avatar #32989 to #32988 - saltyfries (09/05/2014) [-]
why wouldn't he, his team was being dumb, and his coach was being dumb.
Brewers are being dumb
Badgers are being dumb
Packers are being dumb
EVERYONE is being dumb

I can't take it, like I felt last year, this maybe a bad, bad, bad, bad year.................

I was almost right last year...

Last year probably set up this year....

oh joy...
User avatar #32985 to #32983 - hawaiianhappysauce (09/05/2014) [-]
One thing I noticed is that Green Bay Defense has a lot of work to do. They struggled big time against screens and play action passes, they didn't stop the run, and they were not effective with the running game.
User avatar #32981 - blazingpelt (09/05/2014) [-]
Oh hey, Pete Carroll calls a play action pass for a touchdown while up two scores and almost no time left. It's almost like this has happened before.
User avatar #32978 - blazingpelt (09/05/2014) [-]
Well, at least this game was a wake-up to all the fans and team personnel who think AJ Hawk and Brad Jones are anything even resembling functioning football players.
#32977 - xxxsonic fanxxx (09/05/2014) [-]
I think I speak for every Eddie Lacy owner (and Aaron Rodgers owner for that matter) when I say fuck you, Seattle.

User avatar #32974 to #32973 - saltyfries (09/05/2014) [-]
to be fair Seattle was kind of cheating this training camp, they got fined for overpracticing, so unlike 31 other teams, they're the most prepared...
User avatar #32975 to #32974 - hawaiianhappysauce (09/05/2014) [-]
It's looking like the superbowl now. The scores they got were due to PI and special teams.
User avatar #32976 to #32975 - saltyfries (09/05/2014) [-]
ugh, they're killing me, they can't fucking tackle, we got some great veterans and they can't fucking tackle... They're not adjusting either, just like the Badgers.

A good coach scores early
A great coach makes adjustments to beat their opponents
both McCarthy and Anderson are proving they're not great.
User avatar #32979 to #32976 - hawaiianhappysauce (09/05/2014) [-]
remember, Aaron Rodgers almost never wins when behind by 2 scores or more.
User avatar #32980 to #32979 - saltyfries (09/05/2014) [-]
that's because McCarthy is an idiot and like I said, the Seahawks are just more prepared, despite technically cheating from the overpracticing.
User avatar #32964 - saltyfries (09/05/2014) [-]
I"m not gonna lie, but I'm on the verge of a mental breakdown already, between college, work, Wisconsin teams already falling apart, the weather, I'm about ready to lose it...

User avatar #32966 to #32965 - saltyfries (09/05/2014) [-]
not so far
User avatar #32967 to #32966 - qwertyjr (09/05/2014) [-]
>Not so far
They're playing great, close game, putting pressure on wilson and nearly picking him off
Aaron rodgers is moving the ball against a sturdy defense. Some misteps sure, aaron rodgers not running for the first and the snaps causing 2 timeouts, but the offense is still producing
Both these teams are gonna be in the playoffs though.
#32960 - xxxsonic fanxxx (09/05/2014) [-]
If a team is on 4th down they might as well just throw a hail mary, the inevitable pass interference will guarantee a first down.
User avatar #32962 to #32960 - blazingpelt (09/05/2014) [-]
Nobody calls PI on hail mary plays.
User avatar #32961 to #32960 - qwertyjr (09/05/2014) [-]
Or a guaranteed interception
plus you have to throw the ball near a player or you get intentional grounding.
User avatar #32963 to #32961 - thisismyhandle ONLINE (09/05/2014) [-]
Well, the interception wouldn't be any worse than a deep punt
User avatar #32968 to #32963 - spazzin (09/05/2014) [-]
If anything, the corner will be smart enough to swat the ball to the ground
User avatar #32971 to #32968 - thisismyhandle ONLINE (09/05/2014) [-]
I'm not saying that going for the interception is a good play, just that an interception on a 4th down hail mary play is no worse than a punt in most cases.
