Grade my way to early fantasy draft

QB: Peyton Manning, Phillip Rivers
RB: Leveon Bell, McCoy, TJ Yeldon, Joseph Randle, Bishop Sankey
WR: Calvin Johnson, Amari Cooper, Eric Decker, Doug Baldwin, Torrey Smith
TE: Martellus Bennett, Tyler Eifert
K: Stephen Gostkowski
D/ST: Eagles
User avatar #48741 to #48715 - brownskin (07/28/2015) [-]
Martelly is a good choice at TE, given what was probably left at that point. Don't know how I feel about Manning and Rivers. Manning is on his way out, but Rivers don't seem to be doing too bad. Think best pair this year would be Rodgers and Luck. Running back has some talent, I'll give you that, but obviously you could have done well. I'm thinking AP, and Lacy will have really good years (AP needs some form of redemption) and I think Arian Forster is looking to come back and have a great year. I doubt my draft will look anywhere near as good as yours. I got stuck with the last pick this year.
User avatar #48738 to #48715 - indulge (07/28/2015) [-]
solid draft. I would try to trade Cooper early since it's not guaranteed that hes going to be anything special. And if you can strike the right deal, you can totally come on top.
#48728 to #48715 - figatron (07/26/2015) [-]
If you got Rivers and Manning, could you have gotten a better RB instead of Rivers? Most weeks you won't need a #2 QB and Rivers is valuable. meanwhile Bell is great and McCoy is good but after that you have nothing.
#48729 to #48728 - anon (07/26/2015) [-]
Rivers was my third last pick. All good rb were gone. I think my backs are serviceable. Most of them are just unproven
User avatar #48724 to #48715 - hawaiianhappysauce (07/26/2015) [-]
Draft RBs first. QBs last. The fact you have peyton manning says it all. Go for 2 good RBs and a TE. Those are rare. WRs and QBs grow on trees. Kickers grow on trees. And during the season, after you use some of your backups, start collecting defenses and wait for them to play Jacksonville, TB, Tennessee, Redskins, or the Bears.
#48725 to #48724 - anon (07/26/2015) [-]
That's why I have McCoy and Bell.

bondofsnow, welcome back to your ball club Aramis Ramirez.

$13 million now gone from the Brewers, now we just need to deal Adam Lind, Parra, Lohse, Broxton, Garza, and most likely K-Rod.
#48707 to #48698 - anon (07/24/2015) [-]
The Brewers saved $3 million, not $13 million.
#48710 to #48709 - anon (07/24/2015) [-]
Of the $14 million salary, around $8 million had already been allocated to the Brewers expenses over the first 95 games, leaving around $6 million salary remaining. As part of the transaction between the Brewers and Pirates, the Pirates agreed to pay $3 million of the remaining $6 million; the Brewers retain roughly 50% of his remaining salary. The retained $3 million plus the $8 million already allocated means that the Brewers will pay Aramis Ramirez $11 million dollars total for the 2015 season instead of the original $14 million. They saved $3 million dollars on the transaction.
User avatar #48705 to #48698 - bondofsnow (07/24/2015) [-]
Fun fact: he was traded back to the Pirates exactly 12 years after they first traded him.

I think we got a minor league infielder for Ramirez, so already that's a decent trade in going younger, plus this gives us an excuse to call up Matt Dominquez and Jason Rogers again to play 3B knowing we're out of contention.

Okay, I know this isn't a big deal, but this really has been the happiest I have been in a while. I got my coaching certificate this summer since I took a coaching class last semester. So I have my liscense to coach and everything, but since I am moving back to my old town to finish off my degree there, I applied to be an assistant coach at my high school's old football team. And I got accepted, but it's not going to be for the upcoming 2015 season, it's going to have to be 2016 since I am still a couple states away from my old town and not able to drive back and forth every day for coaching. But yeah, I am going to be an assistant coach for the Junior Varsity mostly, but also going to be helping with Varsity, working with offensive lineman and linebackers mostly, and I am going to be working in the pressbox during Varsity games. So yeah, it's not a huge deal, but I am really happy about this and really excited and I am just glad that my old coaches appreciated me enough to basically accept my application to coach there without even a single moment of thought about it. I literally handed in the application, one of them skimmed through it and was just like "Welcome aboard, Nick. Looking forward to having you helping out next year." This is the happiest I have been in a long time =).

ITT: My top 10 favorite individual sports games, and Top 5 worst
Best
10. NCAA 05 PS2, school fight songs, create-a-school, fcs schools, and bug/glitch free majority gameplay, it's my favorite college football game despite the controls not being quite there yet compared to Madden 05/06. Students will also recognize good teams when they see one if you go undefeated before recruiting. With the exception of a couple teams, the rosters are for the most part realistic, playable, and only need slight editing like a position change or 2 per team.
9. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005 PS2, easy to control, fun to play around as a loser in Legend Tour mode, hilarious made up golfers like Billy Bear Hightower, great golf cast, easy to play, and some of my favorite golf courses in 1 game. Unfortunately, it used to have online servers for real time events, but that lasted 3 years, completing the game 200% now is now impossible.
8. NHL 14 360, first NHL game I played in years, and holy FUCK did I enjoy it, plenty of good teams, easy to play, great soundtrack and more.
7. Madden 12 360 and PS3, the most recent Madden I have, the last great one, good controls, good realistic AI, realistic attributes per player, near bug/glitch free gameplay, great graphics, exploitable rookie draft in season mode, and introduction of team traditions and undrafted rookies.
6. Triple Play 2000 PC, HILARIOUS mini games, solid gameplay, HILARIOUS commentary, HILARIOUS advertisements, easy controls, CHEATS, great cast of players and legends alike.
5. Madden 93 Sega Genesis, first madden game, nuff said
4. Ken Griffey Jr. Baseball 1997 N64, easy to play, still looks great for N64, hilarious announcer, Griffey has own stance and cheat code for instant home run, angel studios and nintendo have own cheat teams, unfortunately every player but A-Rod and David Ortiz have long since retired.
3. MVP Baseball 05 PS2, realistic in good fashions like Rookies struggle and veterans are clutch stuff like that, easy to play, aged well, great cast of legends, intro to minor leagues and single a, can create 5 different kinds of teams (Legend, Create-a-Team, All-Star, Normal, and All-Rookie), easy to control, skill based gameplay, only downside is poorly made owner mode
2. Madden 06 PS2, love QB Vision imo, best owner mode, easy to manage rosters and mess with, easy to learn who goes where, easy to navigate, easy to play, versatile ai, best cast of players, madden cards, only downside is dumb ai in NFL draft
1. WWE No Mercy/Wrestlemania 2000 N64, great controls, easy to play, a fantastic less is more create-a-wrestler system, WM2k features great road to wrestlemania mode, No Mercy features great storylines per title, ladder matches, cage matches, 40 men royal rumble b4 they were cool, different arenas to choose from, ALMOST got the entrances down, ALMOST got the movesets right per wrestler, best cast of Wrestlers and Legends alike
User avatar #48672 to #48657 - yeorgh ONLINE (07/21/2015) [-]
Best sport games are Fifa Street 2 and NFL Street 2.
User avatar #48658 to #48657 - saltyfries (07/20/2015) [-]
Worst
5. NCAA 14 360, for the last game of the franchise, this was pathetic, horrible messed up rosters, students won't care if you're undefeated or not, shitty ost, buggy/glitchy, fucking unplayable, you can't pass, you have to run first to set up play action, or else every time you pass, even if the receiver is open, 5 DB's will INSTANTLY recover like a glitch and deflect the pass away, no matter what difficulty. Unrealistic simulator as it has powerhouses going 6-6 or worse, and non power house teams winning. No FCS teams.
4. All-Star Baseball 2003 by Acclaim Sports PS2, confusing numbers, the game is set to 2003, the season is set to 2002, the stats are from 2001, I would get this if it was football given how the seasons go, but MVP 05 gets it right by having 2004 stats at least! Impossible to hit or pitch, human pitchers last 4 innings tops no matter how good or how few of pitches, ai pitchers last forever, this despite being on rookie difficulty. Grades for overalls instead of numbered attributes, makes players unrealistic as you don't know what their other attributes are, like Ichiro can hit 80 HR's, seriously. Shitty OST as the same song plays over and over again in the main menu.
3. Madden 09 360, unrealistic player overalls even for the time, gimmicky celebrations, out of date graphics, unplayable to the max, no matter what your defense is on rookie, the opposing team will pass down the middle and catch it now matter what, even if you stack the middle with defenders.
2. MLB The Show 15 PS4, I'm not going to rant again how bad this game is now, it's so bad it pisses me off, it's a shitty game disguised by its good graphics.
1. TNA Impact 360, a game so bad, I returned it when I rented the same night lying that it had a defect, and I got CoD 4 MW1, if I rent that game over this, that's bad, the game had a stupid story campaign, worst Create-a-wrestler system ever with virtually NO moves to choose from except finishers, rushed development, glitchy, INSANELY HARD EVEN AT EASY DIFFICULTY, terrible unresponsive controls, terrible entrances, 75% of the roster is locked (most WWE games lock maybe 10 wrestlers max! TNA locked 38 of their 50 wrestlers!) at the start of the game, awful camera, just awful in general...

User avatar #48675 to #48671 - saltyfries (07/21/2015) [-]
I have MLB 2k7, it's average, the framerate is choppy and it's not technically sound, but it's a lot more fair than the Show, messing with options has actual visual effects, it's just the attributes are way off, and season mode treats every player like shit, but it's still way more playable than the Show.
#48665 to #48658 - figatron (07/20/2015) [-]
My complaint about NCAA 14 was that at higher difficulty levels, defense is unplayable. runs go for 7 yards a play and the opposing qb just cannot get stopped. I couldn't hold Pitt to under 30 points using a powerhouse programs. Its not like I'm really bad either. On Madden I can usually hold offenses to less than 3 yards per carry and while pass defense is harder I can still do it. I do get tired of seeing GT and Navy and Army go undefeated and Alabama and FSU lose 5 games. I haven't had a problem with passing. On Heisman I usually pass very well but you can't pass to a covered guy and expect him to make the catch.
User avatar #48663 to #48658 - sphincterface ONLINE (07/20/2015) [-]
Oh man I hated NCAA 14. It's like defensive backs owned the fucking field. You want to know how many times I got passes deflected or intercepted from backs who were nowhere near my receivers? Way too many times. Their jumping ability is always ridiculous, to the point where every defensive back was overpowered as fuck. Honestly if I saw a college player do as well as the average DB was in that game, they would all be going to the NFL draft. It was just unfair how good pass defenses were for your opponents. It's a shame the game had to go out with such a whimper.
