Had a sick back day, about a month ago I was rowing 185 for 5 just for shits and giggles after my main rows, now I'm doing 4 sets of 8 with 185. Also through on some straps and tried to row 225 to see if I could, got it for 2 reps.

Also started doing meadow rows, to help my grip out more since you have a much larger grip for the lift. Still managed to do 105 for a couple reps on each side though, my grip is definitely what is holding me back on most pulling movements.

Not got a gym for the whole christmas holidays. At least im going back a week early so ill have some more time to work out but im worried ill have lost loads of progress. Just want to get back in the gym and being at home gives me no motivation to actually do exercise. Like normally im pumped to go to the gym but being at home i have no fucking motivation what so ever. Guess i might as well try and cut a bit and burn some fat while i can.

I used to go to the gym 3 times weekly.Ive been going less and less since a month, and stopped completely a week ago.I just havent felt vigorous enough, demotivated, too.I keep weighing myself, and even though im lazy as hell,i dont work out,i only participate in PE at school which isnt all that much effort,im losing weight.I lost 3 kilogrammes since the moment i started being lazy with my workout.Since the past week i have been having random diarrhoea, and i constantly feel hungry even though i eat like a pig.Any idea what the fuck is going on?

Yeah no you dont understand,i had shit metabolism.Beginning of march this year i went a step up with my diet and went on straight water with some soda once or twice a month, and up to 5 coffees monthly.Still mainly eating meat,so there is no way in hell metabolism improved because of that.Nor because of diet. The diarrhea hasnt been servere either, like 2x30min mild ..attacks? of it like 4 times the last week. Its just unthinkable that its because of that, and the metabolism thing is sounding like something impossible. If anything the diarrhea is probably an effect of something else. Then again i have no fucking clue, which is why i am asking here. Not like im trying to dismiss what you said, its just very,VERY unlikely in my opinion.

So, trying to eat better and lose a bit of weight but it's kinda hard to get rid of craving to eat junk food and sugary drinks. I usually manage to stay off soda but I have a weakness for sweet teas and other drinks and I always find myself wanting to eat garbage like chips and snack cakes and other such garbage because I'm always bored and broke Filling out applications for some jobs, having a hard time finding anything . I'm not massive or anything, 200 at 5'10 but my weight's starting to show a bit and I want to catch this before it gets too far.

How do you guys get rid of cravings to eat junk food? Just staying busy or something?

Eat lots of sugary fruits instead, they taste good and might help you with that sweet tooth of yours. Try bananas, red apples and so on.
Also you can eat heavier meals as long as you count those calories, at your weight/height even if you get them down around 2000 you'll still lose weight.

I'm 6'1 and currently around 200 but weighed more and lost it thanks to eating 1500 calories a day, that diet wasn't pretty though.

Do you guys still do without recommendations? I kind of let myself go right at the start of this summer and I'm 6'0" up to 175lbs and somehow managed to get bitch tits (again...). My dietary intake is pretty shit, but I can probably work in that. With a low income budget and lack of access to any equipment, What's a quick daily workout I could do without access to any equipment? I'm not here for quick results, I'm here to better myself.

Posting as anon because I'm kind of shy despite being surrounded by so many cool people trying to improve themselves like me.

Dude, it's just muscle soreness. I'm not injured or hurt. I'm just not used to that movement. I don't need techniques to manage DOMs unless it's excessive. Good food and good sleep is all I need.

Do you like having DOMs? I didn't say you were injured or hurt, what I suggested was purely for managing soreness. Now you're just arguing with me for the sake of it. Do you forget that I'm actually an okay lifter and have been doing this for a while? It seems like you automatically reject my advice just for the sake of it. Sure, it's okay to have different opinions on different movements and training, but why would you buck at plain advice for soreness? You're being a goof, dude.

I'm not trying to argue with you at all. I understand some people do that for helping soreness, I personally don't do things to treat soreness unless it's severe and excessive to where it hinders me from working out again.

This subject just happens to be my opinion. Thanks for the advice, I'll keep it on kind, but in the vast majority of situations I don't do those sort of things as I find it unnecessary.

Any preferences pros/cons

Barbell rows let you use more weight but you're limited by your lower back, causing advances in weight to actually be shit form.

Chest supported Dumbbell rows hit your rhomboids more.

Chest supported barbell rows allow for less weight, but help keep your lower back healthy ands is good for higher reps.

Personally I start with rows then choose a separate variation to support it.

They're different movements that serve different purposes.

If I had to choose just one, I'd choose barbell rows because they're a good combination of heavy weight plus including a large amount of the back, but all are good movements.

Anyone got a suggestion for a substitute for bent over barbell rows? For the following reasons:
1. Doing them for a while, kinda want to switch it up
2. With all the heavy deadlift/deadlift accessory work, they just make my lower back feel uncomfortable
3. I'm a bitch ass nigga
Thinking of some tbar rows, already am doing kroc rows cuz dem back gains.
