What band(s), musicians, artists, would you say made a big impact on your life in some way? For me it would be the Living End. It was seeing them live for my first show that made me want to become a musician.

The Strokes. They made me realize that music doesn't have to be complex to be excellent, as demonstrated by their first 2 albums. I've been a huge fan of them ever since I discovered them about 3 years ago.

Well, there's been subtle changes to me whenever I discovered genres that I really liked. I mean, I'm sure The Pistols and Sabbath and Deth did change my life a bit when they made me realise I liked Punk, Metal and Thrash respectively. But if I had to pick 2 real measurable impacts in my life it would have to be:
Michael Jackson: He just made me realise how much I love music, and the pursue of art in general. I can't really recall of a time in my life in which I didn't like Michael Jackson and he's just too engrained in my way too look at the world, from clothing to my own singing style.

And then there's the Foo Fighters. Now, I always liked the Foo Fighters, and even without it I would still think that Wasting Light is the best Hard Rock album since Appetite for Destruction, but even so. When I finally heard and Walk and the rest of their 2011 album at some point in late 2013 I was finally coming off of a point in my life that brought me too much hardship and made me re-evaluate myself a lot.

I was finally starting to heal, and understanding what there was left for me after losing so much. And it just spoke to me in a very personal way. I remember, very clearly, that when that song got to the chorus for me the first time, that was the moment I realised life was worth living again. That's less so because it is a great song (it is, but still) and more because of where I was in my life. But it stands to me as the moment in time in which I regained some sort of drive behind my life. And for that I'm very grateful.

Korn. The first full album I listened was a Korn album so it's what got me into rock and heavy music in general since my 13.
Nirvana. I just loved the dirty riffs and the voice. It got me into other grunge bands and made me love the genre.
Nine Inch Nails. For combine rocfor me it was simply perfect when I discovered it. And I dare to say that listen to The Downward Spiral helped me to understand and help out a friend who was going totally suicidal.

And I guess I can also add Green Day, it was my favorite band for some time when I was a teenager.

same, saw them open and, while I had listened to them before the show, I was in love

I recommend their first EP, The Perils of Time Travel, if you haven't heard it.

I grabbed it off of their merch page online as soon as I got home haha. Really wish I could have afforded the Maps of Non-Existent Places vinyl they had but I bought the Coheed tour shirt instead. It was wayyy too nice to pass up.

I got the Maps vinyl, it sounds a lot better than the unremastered version.
kind of disappointed in the IKS repress, though
probably the best band I've seen open, surpassed Between the Buried and Me for sure

A band that doesn't really fit my 'music style' now were responsible for me to really get into REAL music. Which made me to change my way of thinking too.
When I was 15 I randomly saw/heard this song: Black Veil Brides-Knives and pens.
Back then I thought it was the coolest thing ever and I was really amazed someting like thta existed and never really knew there was 'different music'.
Since then I started to listen to metal, punk, and all kinds of 'alternative' music. If it wasn't for that one random song that had such an impact on me, I'd've still been listening to Adele and Bruno Mars just to fit in. I totally dont give a shit about anyone anymore now.

Iron Maiden, made me start playing guitar again.
Tool, helped me get into psychedelics which got rid of my anxiety of death
Also Eyedea, I have the same personality type as him, so the stuff he says are sometimes stuff I think about and just can't word properly.

Jack Black is what made me start playing guitar.

There's a metal band that's pure bass. It's too hardcore for me, but I love the bass so much that I actually dig it.
