Tchami - Shot Caller

What's it called when the the drop comes and the beat starts a second too late? It's so catchy.

I've had a bass guitar for years now, and only really ever used it a little. Can anyone give me a song with a pretty simplistic bassline for me to learn? If you're kind enough to supply a tab I would be most greatful as well .

Song for your troubles The Mars Volta - Cicatriz ESP (Complete)

Michael Jackson - Beat It (Digitally Restored Version) Three Days Grace - Animal I Have Become These are the first two songs I learned. If you can, RATM basslines are a bit harder, but really fun to play.

I've been playing bass for awhile and love it. Tell me what kind of genres you like and I can list a few songs that are easy but sound great. And if you can read tabs, I can direct you to good ones for whatever songs you want to try

Well I'm quite the fan of metal, but if I like it I'll listen to just about anything. Same goes for what I'll learn on bass.

Guessing you really like Tool? haha I dig it, PopcornViking is right though, the transition could use some work and the polyrhythms fit together after needs some polishing in my opinion but anything tool influenced is a winner in my book.

Sounds a bit strange now that I hear it! Wasn't expecting that, but it is far from over, I've actually put some more work into it, I also got a footswitch the other day so the transitions won't be as funny.

So I've been noticing something. I have this tendency to end my singing sentences with an "ah" that's somewhere between a desperate breath and a sigh. I blame the ungodly amount of hours I spent listening to Michael Jackson before I even knew I wanted to sing, I'm almost sure I picked it up from him because my brain said "no, this is it, this is how you're supposed to sing".

The problem is I don't sing a lot of pop and it just doesn't fit with plenty of the music I sing and I don't know how to turn it off. Seriously, this shit is automatic. I didn't notice it for years and now it drives me crazy.
User avatar #125456 - imonaboatman (08/04/2014) [-]
I'm in need of some new, preferably acoustic (or just relaxing), indie/alternative/emo stuff that's really sad - similar to Bright Eyes, Iron and Wine, Brand New, Radiohead, old Modest Mouse, American Football, etc. Any help would be appreciated.

User avatar #125463 to #125461 - beren (08/04/2014) [-]
I love almost every one of their songs, but the ones that pulled me at first were Down in the Valley and Lost in My Mind, from their first album, The Head and the Heart.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=NcbRMzH27GM
www.youtube.com/watch?v=ugsvN-tJSrI

Anyway. It's a folksy, relaxing tune. I listen to them for exams and writing papers, and they're excellent.

Glad to hear it. At first, I liked those two songs and was pretty "meh" on the rest, but the more I listened to them the more I loved them. Almost every song from both The Head and the Heart and Let's Be Still is great. I highly recommend just putting on a Youtube playlist--sit back and enjoy!

I may be using the term wrong but I was referring to his usage of entendres and MULTIS. These might not be the best examples of his work either.
User avatar #125453 to #125452 - thebestpieever (08/04/2014) [-]
Oh, I really dig multisyllabic rhymes. If it's possible I think you should always make them. I enjoy my double entendres if they're spread out enough, like, say, "Lovegun" by Kiss but not if they're the rank and file of the lyrics.
User avatar #125445 - RisenLichen (08/03/2014) [-]
Does anyone have any tips as to how to play piano?

I've always wanted to learn but the best I can do is read music. Everyone I meet plays by ear and is way better at actually playing
User avatar #125447 to #125445 - thebestpieever (08/03/2014) [-]
That's not because playing by ear makes you better but because once you get to a level where you can play by ear then you're already pretty good at it by then. It's all about practice.
User avatar #125448 to #125447 - RisenLichen (08/03/2014) [-]
