Look up the label Aural Hypnox. Everything on there is great. There's a bunch of other stuff I could recommend too, if you want.

Some standouts on Aural Hypnox are Zoät-Aon, Halo Manash, Aeoga and I.corax.

Zoät-Aon was the first one I really got into and he's still my favorite. He's one of the best artists that I've ever heard in terms of sound design.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=UWVbgyuRkSc

His music and some of the others tend to be more active than a lot of other dark ambient, there seems to be a big range in the genre as far as intensity and variety of sounds.

Thomas Köner is on the very ambient side. Some other artists in that vein are Sleep Research Facility and Ionosphere.

I was listening to one of the Current 93 songs on your playlist and it sounded pretty close to this one by Algol. His music under that name leans towards space ambient, especially his newer stuff, but he releases Siberian themed dark ambient/field recordings under the name Stuzha.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6fVT8xfBRw

I don't want to throw a long list of names at you all at once, unless you want me to. These guys are all great, so you could start off by checking them all out however in-depth you feel like going.

Soft rock?! Excuse my ignorance but I thought rock had like guitars and such..?
I don't know, I may be wrong but I got a kind of a trip-hop-y or bumper-y feel from it hmmm.... Could it be any of those?

(08/22/2015) [-]
Nah, rock doesn't have to have guitar. There's rock built around the piano and stuff like that. In fact most early rock is built around a piano instead of a guitar. Trip hop borrows a lot of elements from a lot of rock, actually, one of it's biggest differences is that it uses instrument samples instead of real instruments... but I choose to ignore that because that's dumb, I just focus on composition.
It could be that as well, frankly very few things fit just nice and squarely within one genre.

So that song might be soft rock sorta? I mean I think the melody itself is sampled, triphop maybe? Hmm.. the only reason I want to know a genre or something, similar music maybe is 'cause I'd like to find similar songs with strings, a slow chill beat. Even though it probably is some weird experimental electronica, a genre or something would be nice heh.
Thanks for the tips man

Y'know, Disturbed is not a really good band if I'm honest. Like... I know I enjoy them, but aside from the choruses they like to repeat seven billion times and the trademark "ooh-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah" I can't recall a single moment of their entire discography. Their also not precisely interesting, they have 3 songs that they've remade for six albums and none of those were anything special to begin with but they're good songs.

I like 'em, but I don't think about them in any way it's me point. They're an oddly static, unremarkable, mediocre, but enjoyable band. Listening to the new album... I never realised -or maybe I forgot- but I enjoy Draiman's vocals a lot. I like that muscular scream he's got going on, and how he manages to cramp a shit ton of harmonics into his voice yet it doesn't sound dirty. It's nice. The fact that he pronounces a lot of percussive consonants in a way reminiscent of Michael Jackson also helps. I should check out Device; they're probably crap(pier?), but I do like the guy's style.

I saw that video in metalsucks last year. It's pretty funny. The weird part is that I don't actually don't recognise any of the disturbed riffs going on in the back or can recall any song in which the guy goes "muh muh muh" because I Disturbed just enters my head and then goes out without leaving mark.
