You should be able to use just some microfiber and alcohol. Vinyls produce sound via their grooves, so there's nothing much in a cleaning process you could do to damage those. Unless you use like a fucking steel scrubber you're more or less in the clear whatever you do.

2 solutions

just wash them with ur hands in the sink and a grain of soap, leave them to dry, good to go, but be careful with the labels, don't get them wet or their gone

or

buy one of those kits with cloth and record cleaning lube, apply and wipe with given cloth, spin it and use ur carbon cleaner to remove all the dust and fabric from the cloth.

OCCASIONAL FOOD THREAD, ULTRABLUE AND THEMAGICWIZARD ARE BIG FAT BULLIES EDITION!!!! MEANIES!!!!!!!!!

this week we're gonna be talking about things that took you a long time to like, but once it stuck with you, you fell in love with it.

I used to hate onions, so so so fucking much. but one day i tried some grilled onions on a slider burger from this hippie place called the vello fellow in south carolina and it was...it was amazing. i just couldn't describe it. now I eat onions with so much shit, which goes hand in hand with my recent habit of brushing my teeth all the fucking time.

When I was dating my first girlfriend a long time ago, she kept showing me la dispute but I despised it. About five months after we broke up I decided to listen to them for fun and i instantly fell in love. they've been my favorite band since, and I don't think I've liked an album as much as Wildlife, besides maybe flowers for my father.

Onions and tomatoes are still on my shit list, with the exception of those little sweet white onions. Maybe one day I'll see the light.

For me it would be middle eastern food. Some specific things like kibbe, kefta and hummus. I started having it a few years ago when my friend's parents were trying out recipes before opening their Lebanese restaurant. I wanted to be polite, but I wasn't that into it. I kept trying it once in a while and it really grew in me. I visited Montreal for 4 days last December and I went to a different middle eastern place to eat every day. It was probably more than half of what I ate there. Lamb kefta in particular is one of my favorite foods now.

And so went my relationship with These New Puritans. The first I heard of them was their song We Want War, which I think is one of their more well known singles. I liked it enough that I went and checked out their 2 albums that were out at the time, Beat Pyramid and Hidden. I thought they were total garbage with nothing of interest that I could pick out. I went through and gave each track a preview and I was totally turned off. I don't even remember right now when or why I chose to revisit them. I think it might have been when they released their newest album, Field of Reeds, in 2013. When I listened to it, it blew me away and after a while I decided to give their previous albums another shot. Something clicked at that point and they sounded totally different from when I had first heard them a few years earlier. Since then, they've been right at the top of my favorite artists and Hidden/Field of Reeds are two of my favorite albums of all time. I already posted Hidden as my AOTW a few weeks back, so here's a track from that and one from Field of Reeds.

Well, maybe that thread wasn't as dumb as I thought it was. No, it definitely was.

I've given onions plenty of shots. I'm not opposed to the taste so much, I like using onion powder when I'm cooking stuff. it's more of a texture thing. I'm starting to be able to just ignore tomatoes in different foods. Maybe that's the first step to liking them?

Maaaaan this one's hard. Is this payback for earlier?

I'm pretty sure I dislike all foods that I've disliked for years. Coleslaw is something that I learned to like within the past 5 years or so. But I mean, I just like it, I don't LOVE it or anything, and only if it's done right, some places do it shitty.

As for artists, again I can't think of anything I hated that I now love. I guess that technically isn't what the topic is, so I'll do a couple answers. I remember when my friends in high school were first talking about The Devil Wears Prada and how awesome they were, and then I remember checking a song or two out and being like this sucks, whatever. Fast forward some months later and I gave them another shot after having gotten into similar bands and I loved them; became one of my favorite bands throughout the end of high school and till now to an extent. I remember when I first heard of Open Mike Eagle I just thought he was too odd and too sing-y for my taste as far as rappers went. But he kept intriguing me so I eventually tried out Rappers Will Die of Natural Causes, his weirdest release I think, and I slowly came to appreciate how different he is, and now I love his style.

I wish I had more food answers. If I can think of more later I'll post them

There's this one local restaurant here that has the most banging coleslaw I've ever had. I know I said I don't love coleslaw in general, just like it, but I REALLY like that stuff. It's not even made like most coleslaw, it's like chunks of cabbage not like the straws or whatever. So dank.

Muse United States of Eurasia Queen - The prophet's song (1975) I need more rock with classical elements. Not just some rock song with an orchestra playing bits in the background, I've got plenty of those, but like actually classical compositions and harmonisations in there. Preferably waltz, but that's really just me getting picky, I'll take whatever you can throw at me. If you have any rock that uses rock instrumentation but plays classical style melodies that's fine too.

" I have a bit of money to blow on an album and vinyls from the last couple decades are pretty cheap, like £10 " I thought
" this can't be right " I thought

Grateful Dead - Terrapin Station Let my inspiration flow in token rhyme, suggesting rhythm,
That will not forsake me till my tale is told and done.
While the firelight's aglow, strange shadows from the flames will grow,
Till things we've never seen will seem familiar.
Shadows of a sailor forming winds both foul and fair all swarm.
Down in Carlisle he loved a lady, many years ago.
Here beside him stands a man, a soldier from the looks of him,
Who came through many fights, but lost at love.
While the story teller speaks, a door within the fire creaks,
Suddenly flies open, and a girl is standing there.
Eyes alight, with glowing hair, all that fancy paints as fair,
She takes her fan and throws it, in the lion's den.
Which of you to gain me, tell, will risk uncertain pains of hell?
I will not forgive you if you will not take the chance.
The sailor gave at least a try, the soldier being much too wise,
Strategy was his strength, and not disaster.
The sailor, coming out again, the lady fairly leapt at him.
That's how it stands today, you decide if he was wise.
The storyteller makes no choice. soon you will not hear his voice.
His job is to she'd light, and not to master.
Since the end is never told, we pay the teller off in gold,
In hopes he will come back, but he cannot be bought or sold.
Inspiration, move me brightly. light the song with sense and color;
Hold away despair, more than this I will not ask.
Faced with mysteries dark and vast, statements just seem vain at last.
Some rise, some fall, some climb, to get to Terrapin.
Counting stars by candlelight, all are dim but one is bright;
The spiral light of Venus, rising first and shining best,
On, from the northwest corner, of a brand new crescent moon,
While crickets and cicadas sing, a rare and different tune, Terrapin station.
In the shadow of the moon, Terrapin station.
And I know we'll get there soon,
I can't figure out, (Terrapin!)
if it's the end or beginning. (Terrapin!)
But the train's put it's brakes on, (Terrapin!)
And the whistle is screaming, Terrapin!
While you were gone, these spaces filled with darkness. The obvious was here.
With nothing to believe in, the compass always points - to terrapin.
Sullen wings of fortune beat like rain.
You're back in terrapin for good or I'll again, for good or I'll again.

More or less the entire seventies. That vocal entry is totally Robert Plant, and the guitar tone is very Pagey, at time it sounds sort of Gimme Sheltery, at times it sounds like Black Sabbath in their bluesier moments. It's just a very 70s sounding song.

Ikr. I feel.kinda conflicted bout this cause seeing Manson/Zombie always felt different. They are the bands pretty much soo seeing them talking about some deep intelectuall shit or whatever feels much better than listening the same thing from whole band. For some reason it makes me feel unconfortable.

But anyway big TY for suggestions gonna hit em right away.

The Red Army Choir - Katyusha Korobelniki (Pedlars) folk song Японский марш Yuki No Shingun Anyone have recordings of old timey war songs that aren't recorded via trash can and aren't sung by incredibly obnoxious baritone blokes?

CD Art Display is very A S T H E T I X
Also I tried musicbee and I can sadly confirm that AIMP3 reduces the audio quality since the audio drivers updated with Win10. I guess I'm using this now.

All I really want is itunes with a Miku Hatsune theme. That's all I want. But even that is too much to ask.

I just really love her design, even on the abstract it's a 10/10 colour scheme. Miku gave me the curse of absolutely loving the anime art style while loathing anime itself.

That's okay that you like it and everything, but Miku is like the universal watermark for smelly neckbeard weeaboos right next to Konata and skin up a software from it is just... as much as I could like a character design that would just make me cringe really bad.
Me.

Oh I skin everything, skin skin skin skins, have to make the things you like look like you like. That's why my chrome theme is the London skyline. And I don't care about "the watermark" if you're scared of doing what you love because people will lump you in with other people you don't like then you don't deserve doing what you love.

I skin too, after all design is my hobby. And yes I get your point, but I just rather not on some things. Like how you think Rush is good but you rather not listen to it because the fans get in your nuts easily.

Just hit me up with first album that you can think of, no matter how heavy it is. As long as it's not unless it is album inspired by guinea pig movies(or whatever is that japanese shit called) or something similiar I'm okay with it.

I actually like this kind of music. I just felt I can not understand it and enjoy it properly cause I know shit about scandinavian metal. I feel like I can never enjoy these songs unless I understand their background. But heeeeey there is Lords of Chaos on my desk so maybe it'll help me.

I dont have a link to it, but last night at the Leftover Crack show, Days N Daze performed and did a cover of All Star. They're a crusty folk punk band, and it was the best time I've ever had moshing.
