Im exremely bored. So I've come up with a game that, I hope, haven't been done here before.

I tell you a little about myself, I can record myself saying something extremely sexy or whatever, and you guys (even if just one guy) can draw what you think I look like!

I understand if you don't really wanna put in the effort, Im just really curious what people think I look like.

Alright /art/, every year ive made this post for three years so here it goes again. I'm genuinely an alright artist, but i've had this problem for the longest time and can never seem to fix it. So the problem is, everytime i draw i struggle for control of the pencil, i know how to hold and use one but whenever i put pencil to paper it just seems foreign or should i say wrong? It's even worse with my drawing tablet which i really want to be good at. It's like i cant make the lines do what i want, but i know i can do it because very rarely it just clicks and i can get like 2 hours of solid A+ sketching in. I always try to remember what i did to make it work but repeating the process never works. Please helo me, this has been directly affecting my mood for the longest time.

Thicker lines are ALWAYS more forgiving, this is why cartoons use them a lot. You should use thick lines for sketching as it gives you more choice in where to put your final linework.

Maybe is how you're holding it? there are few tips of comfortable positions to hold your pencil, it can vary even if you change how close to the tip you're holding it.

Or maybe is the technique, for me, making one long or straight line in one stroke is still difficult, so I make several lines and then shape the perfect one with the eraser, is time consuming but after studying professional sketches I realized that is not that they make it smooth in one go, is that because they don't share the full size that you can't tell in small details how they use the same method I'm using.

I've tried holding it mulitple different ways, tripod, overhand, underhand, using from the shoulder, from the wrist. I think i have those basically down. when im on the tablet its just like my pencil slides too much.
as for technique i always thought this may be it but ive had problems here as well. However, what ive had the most succes with is not lifting the pencil off the page too much and lightly sketching without going over the lines too much either. This results in etchy lines but the pictures turn out great. I've tried thte quick lines with barely touching the page and those never seem to wield great results.

I would say that's a problem with the sensitivity of your tablet but you're having troubles with traditional drawings as well? looks like you need to review from 0 and watch video of how other people draw, I bet some of them draw exactly like you and you're feeling uneasy because you don't know that yet.

With the tablet, aside from changing the sensitivity, the program can help too... idk what programs you like but I prefer SAI for sketching, it makes the best line of all the programs I've tested and it has many Stabilizers options, manga studio does the work too but is not the same. I'm really curious btw how you draw? can you share some with the board?

I can see the improvement tho! how you manage to make the forms with less line as you progress, you're certainly getting better.

keep the driver installer on your PC somewhere you can find it.
Wacoms drivers sort of have a history with fucking up when the computer isn't cleaned up for a while.Priority issues and all that.
re-running the process, or in more severe cases, the installer, will take care of things.

Could it be that your drivers aren't running properly? if you connect a tablet to windows it will work with the default configuration, reinstalling the official drivers from Wacom should fix it.

Also try with another computer just to be sure that your pencil isn't broken...This is very unlikely because wacom makes good stuff

It's a good proof of concept but I'd definitely use tools in the future to get those nice clean edges. As it is the edges are kind of choppy and unrefined. This actually looks like it'd be more easily done in illustrator. Well that is if you're familiar with the tools of illustrator. I'd also say the title is kind of distracting. Since it has much more detail information it kind of draws the eye to it. Though that was pretty well offset by the bright whites in Captain Quarks chest emblem. Good job on color choice in general.

Also, YISS! Can't wait for this movie!

yeah i had already used a few photoshop effects to try and make the title a bit more simplified down, going any further would have made weird triangles through the whole thing, i can definitely see where you're coming from where it is distracting.
plus yeah, hand isn't very stable and was in a bit of a rush to get the project finished

I hope this is the right place for video editing - I mean, videos itself are a form of art, right?
Anyway I was hoping if anyone knows a good program for video editing like Windows Movie Maker. It's not a bad program for mixing music and pictures, but when I try to crop videos it freezes or crashes.
So if anyone knows a good program I would be most delighted, would be great if it were free, else I'll just go and "get the booty".
