Other than the helmet, something else seems really off. I suck at seeing mistakes and don't know what it is tht is just making it look so weird.

Did you ever practice measuring by head-lengths? It might assist in drawing up sketches. I can't remember quite as well as I'd like... but I remember the chest being two head-lengths long, and the legs making up four.

I don't know, but keep me posted. I doodle too in my free time.

I might look into tht. Proportions are probably the thing I struggles most with minus the whole colour thing . I'll reply to ur comment when I eventually get round to fixing it.

Looks really nice for a sketch. The only problems I'm seeing are the shoulders (he looks like he's slouching) and the proportions of the limbs.

Freelance graphic artist/designer here. I've been wanting to build up my portfolio in order to prepare to sell more freelance work and take bigger commissions. So, people, request away, give me ideas for backgrounds, wallpapers, photo-shops, etc.
Because of my lack of money, I use the program Paint.Net , which is quite useful for a free program. Maybe I'll get to Photoshop once I can afford it. I'll post more of my stuff below, so feel free to make requests.

Yeah, if you can't afford adobe CC, go with Krita, FireAlpaca or CS2.

Inkscape for Logo design. I actually prefer inkscape over Illustrator. More intuitive in my opinion.

All of these are free, so there's no harm downloading them and testing them out.

you'll want Illustrator and Indesign for Graphic design.

Photoshop is for image fixing and editing, not so much for things like logos and Type etc.

you should make it darker, more defined. the soft blur doesn't do it any justice.

I wasn't going for exactly a burnt wood look, but just somewhat darker. It was the best I could do at the time without making it all too pixel-y. I'll try some improvements though, thanks for the criticism.

doesn't have anything to do with the design, but even though she is leaning on to her weapon, you should have her be standing on her two feet.

She looks injured, but still I think you would convey the feeling of her badassery by not having her balance rely on the weapon so much, she looks like a grandma with back problems.

Gave my hand at it, the tough part here is imo the shoulders.

The thing with your head is that the construction I thinks. Try to consider how the neck connects to the back of the neck. Don't focus on the jaw yet. Like, especially with animu style the shape of the jaw is fairly easy and efficient to just feel out. Like, just slap it on after you got the skull down (sphere that connects to the neck). Unless the angle is weird like below where the bottom of the jaw is visible - /ic/ would fuck me up if I said this there - you don't really have to construct the jaw.

Also draw through the form. Like the collars in the costume, leave them visible while you try to nail the head down so you don't get lost

also buff girls don't have to have masculine proportions (wide shoulders).
