Annual, not annular.

annular refers to the type of eclipse when the moon is in apogee as opposed to perigee. Apogee is when the moon is further from the earth and looks smaller compared to the sun, causing it to not cover completely making an annular eclipse, while perigee is when the earth is closer causing a total eclipse. They distance changes because of the elliptical orbit.

Well now It's fine if it's that definition, but just how are you going to use circular in this form?

It is called annular because the sun forms a "ring of fire" around the edges of the moon. In a circle shape. Annular is circle. =)
