i like to think that some "great unknown entity" used the known/unknown laws of the universe in order to create the world we know... thus mixing religion and scientology sucessfully. is everyone satisfied?

I find it very hard to defend atheists when they get butthurt so easily.

Like really, you're charging in as the "smart guys" yet here you are getting mad about something you don't believe exists.

Why does it matter to atheists though?

If atheists "know" nothing happens when you die, they literally have nothing to fear and people can keep practicing their religion.

Well, you can easily say that there are an afterlife without us having any proof against it, like you cant dissaprove my pet beeing a 12 feet tall invisible dinasour.

But if you look at the brain for a sec, the brain has a certain spot in the middle it's the area that gathers information for what we see, feel and hear, it is the spot for conciousness, when you die your heart stops, your blodflow to the brain carrying oxygen stops aswell leaving your brain incapable of reading any information from anything, you are stone dead, you dont see anything, feel anything or hear anything.

****** up my previous comment so...

LETS TRY AGAIN

I think that a lot of people on the internet perceive religious people as inherently less intelligent and attack and berate them more than they would in real life. I don't think that anyone "knows" what happens after death, no one, not athiests, christians ect. I personally believe thats its more likely that death does not lead to an afterlife set forth by one of the 3 dozen religions on earth, and I assume most athiests do too.

I think it isn't necessarily animosity for theists, but rather the detrimental effects it can have on the progression of humanity as a whole. I.e Crusades, inquisitions, suppression of scientific evidence that disproves the church, etc.

I'm not atheist though

You're employing the logical fallacy of the confusion of origin. Atheism didn't cause Stalin to do that, rather his insanity did. Atheism doesn't teach to send christians to work camps or outright kill them. The Pope ordered things like The Crusades.

Firstly, you're saying that as if every single atheist is like that.
Secondly, it's actually fairly annoying speaking to someone who's somehow reached such a level of stupidity that you could explain to them perfectly the evidence behind the fact of evolution and even tell them where they can find more about it for themselves, and they suddenly come up with some more bullcrap or just raise their hand and leave. It's pathetic to be that stupid, and it's hurting the human species. Now, I can honestly swear I've never said this before, but religion truly does have to end, for the good of our species.

Agreed. Not only is it harmful to free thought (and mankind), it's ultimately pointless.

Religion was created by man to explain things like life, death, purpose. All the unanswered questions that they didn't have the technology to find the answers to. But now, we are more advanced, we can answer more and more questions asked since the beginning of man, even if it is a slow process.

Since we can do all of that, what do we need religion for anymore? It just seems like a primative idea.

Firstly, I know about that, I've met some charming atheist fellows.
Secondly, Don't talk to them then.

Also, religion has to end? I guess we can't allow smart people to enjoy something just because some dumb people are very vocal about their beliefs then. We may as well get rid of all the art and philosophies it inspired/created too, because that's stupid for humans. You're blowing religion way out of proportion, dude. Getting rid of something isn't going to magically fix everything.

There will always be stupid people, religious or not.

I think the main problem is that most people aren't smart enough to realize that science and religion should go hand-in-hand. If you approach things logically, rather than irrationally (hurr durr, universe was created in 6 literal days), then things start making more sense.

<Stephen Hawking, for example. This guy is vastly intelligent, all involved with space and science, and yet he believes in creation.

I believe that science is simply the means by which God created the universe.

Just my belief: We have free will so he doesn't control us and force us to love him (some douches force people cause they're..well.. douches). This free will allows us to actually choose between good an evil, as evil is a test in which if chosen, shows we don't truly appreciate the gift of life. Plus, how did everything evolve and know to survive without some driving force? Just saiyan, thanks and here's a gif.

You're not getting it. Once you get down to the bare basics of everything, it's unexplainable unless you factor in that something designed everything with the intent of us being the dominant species. We're more complex than any other being. That has to mean something when speaking about some creating force.

I'm not attempting to disprove evolution. Evolution and a God can both exist. It can be thought that a God set this evolution into motion, wanting his creations to adapt to any situation. And have those other mammals created the astounding things we have or shaped the Earth in ways we have, or have such complex social and personal behaviors as we do?

Ants nor termites have established anything close to all of the things that we have. They have similarities but are almost like small robots, only living to survive, nothing more. We are the only ones who actually aspire. There is evidence, not physical. Just think about how everything evolved into what it is and what point a huge explosion of matter somehow forming into what we are now would have. It just doesn't make sense without a creator. Forget Christianity, Islam, and all that. Forget the rednecks and "better-than-you" religious people and the hypocritical and untrue thing the bible has been changed into. Something had to have designed us and everything else. Everything in the world works like a machine, each helping the other work. The only one outside of that is us because we have free will, the ability to destroy or better this world only if we choose to do so.

Not ignorance, not everything can be explained. Deal with it. And the evidence is common sense, open yourself to the possibility of a creator, it's not stupid if you actually think about it. Something is not simply made from nothing. And those prey still live and don't go extinct save for some sort of catastrophic event that doesn't pertain to those predators.

What sense does everything existing without a creator make? Something triggered everything to evolve and for us to be the dominant animal. Also that argument can go for you, "The idea of a God is too incredible, therefor is must be false". And there really is nothing disproving it, evolution only adds a new aspect to it.

It makes sense though, we evolve to suit changes in the environment, something must have programmed that into us, our bodies didn't spontaneously know to do this due to a large explosion of matter.

I know about evolution. What I'm saying is We evolve in order to survive better in certain conditions. Why would an organism have a need to evolve if it's surviving perfectly in it's current form. This process could not have resulted from an explosion of matter.

And what conclusions have been reached? The only solid proof anyone give against creationism is evolution and that doesn't disprove a God. Save for the ignorant Christians plugging their ears and going "La-la-la-la-la" A God triggering the world to be created is just as possible and has as much proof as the Big Bang but sadly, years of many Theists being idiots and extremists has overshadowed most from truly considering it.
