My Bible's only verse would be, "Ignorant people shall be executed"..such as "Patti".

I'm Christian, (Nondenominational, I can't get into the whole "our view is right and all others are wrong and therefore damned" thing) and I think this way about it, personally. These laws were invalidated, (or fulfilled, or whatever you want to call it) with Jesus' death on the cross (assuming you have religious beliefs, as well). He said "Love your neighbor as yourself", so, y'know, more of that would be great as opposed to this hate that's going on in the present day.

I'm currently making Broward County history at my school by being the first transgender student to run for homecoming king.
Just felt a little proud

That's one of the many reasons why I am an athiest.
People shouldn't be able to pick and choose what they want to believe in from their religion of choice and still be strongly-opinionated on the ones they choose.

I wonder why people are still following "rules" in a book that is over 2000 years old, it may have been wrong in the past, but being a homosexual is alright nowadays, its not a "sin", it would be nice if people stopped holding onto the bible so closly and following everything it says, we have to modernize, not continue to fallow a 2000 year old book.
User avatar #228 to #178 - frogskickass (10/15/2011) [-]
mmmm even the term sin is just..... so unrealistic and really only acceptable to be used in a mythological context.

People like that make my religion and everyone who believes in it look like idiots. I for one don't believe anything in the bible other than Jesus was from Abraham and ect., Jesus is the son God, he was born in Nazareth, Jesus, Mary, and Joesph had to hide from King Heroid, Jesus was lost in a temple at 13 years of age, and Jesus died on the cross. But, I do believe in God.

I highly disbelieve of a Heaven, Hell, Angels, Guardian Angels, Everlasting life, and miracles. I don't believe Jesus turned the wine into his blood and the bread into his body, I call ******** on that, the rapture, Jesus' & the Pope's miracles, Adam & Eve, Moses and the parting of the Red Sea, and God created everything on Earth.

Then why are you religious?

I grew up in a "religious" family if you wanna call it that we did go to church once every few months but, my parents raised me as a Catholic (but, they said I could believe anything I wanted to.) I also went to a Catholic school too. As I got older I started to realize the flaws of science and psychics in the Bible. I still believe in a higher being than us, God, but, for the most part I'm Catholic/Christian but, just don't believe everything that's said in the Bible.

The story of King Herod is only found in the gospel of Matthew. Matthew and Luke used Mark as a source, so if it's not found in Mark, I wouldn't take it at face value. Matthew's gospel was written to make the faith more attractive to Jewish people (it's similar to Moses' story).
