Though I love this film, Guy Fawkes and his little crew were wankers. They were terrorists, pure and simple. He also fought FOR the Spanish against the Dutch (his country's worst enemy and best ally respectively) and tried to destroy an iconic landmark to murder a king who was softer on Catholics than his predecessors - James actually suspended the Recusancy Laws (enforcing attendance to Protestant services) and attempted to marry his son off to a Catholic to try and encourage peace between Catholics and Protestants. Personally I'd put him on par with Cromwell and Blair as one of the worst Englishman ever.

******** . Try being a catholic in 1605, where attending mass was a capital offense.

No, it wasn't.

Also it's "when attending mass was a capital offense". You could at least make up for your lack of historical knowledge with decent grammar.

Normally, I don't thumb or favorite something that's not funny. In your case, I make an exception...this is perhaps THE best quote from a movie EVER

I also like the "Why won't you die?!"
"Because under this mask is more than flesh. Under this mask is an idea; and ideas are bullet proof!"

And I also laughed out loud literally when they were like "You cannot win - all you have are your knives and silly karate tricks! We have guns-"
"What you have are bullets and the hope that when your guns are empty, I will not be standing, because if I am, you'll all be dead before you even know it."

Basically, EVERYTHING he EVER said is epic.
User avatar #162 to #161 - JackSchidt (09/26/2011) [-]
yes it is very epic..the whole movie. but that line says it all about our current state of the government.
and I thank you for posting

And then logic hit and people realized that they are government but are just too lazy to vote.

So people would basically be holding the worlds economy hostage?

California is a major supplier of food which would cause a lot of people in Russia specifically to die without that food. And with globalization the worlds economy is pretty intermingled.

If the American people feel that the well being of millions of people is worth their first world country problems lol. But either way I really don't see the population coming together like that because of different views and the economy

If people think that anarchy is the **** then they just need to book a flight to Somalia and enjoy their utopia.
User avatar #140 to #139 - Sir Spankalot (09/26/2011) [-]
Given the context of the movie and book, I would gladly take a revolution and temporary anarchy over the oppressive theocracy put in place though fear and manipulation. But then again, it would probably cut into my craftminer time...

Every time they show it on TV i miss the first 15-20 minutes! This is why being middle class and DVR-less sucks
