C++ is pretty awful if you ask me. Also, come back to me when you learn at least two different flavours of assembly language.

When it comes to hardware design, a combination of assembler and C is probable the best choice. My personal favourite is ObjC because of its dynamic model, and it's very flexible.

C++ is alright for medium-sized applications but because of its static nature, it can get really annoying sometimes.

I don't see that happening for another few hundred years. At least that's how long it will probably take us to design an artificial consciousness that can be educated by conventional means.

The brain has an advantage as it is a massively parallel machine rather than a one-instruction-per-cycle machine (any modern CPU). Another possible advantage is that it uses a complex biological framework to operate on, which leaves infinite possibilities (development, genetic variations etc). This is also a disadvantage as there is no such thing as "address based" memory, as our brains rely on content addressed memory instead, which is highly inefficient when it comes to certain tasks.

Emotions are useless. Being a sociopath in a conscience-bound community is much more advantageous.

And isn't that the case right now? Computers *are* much faster at sorting data than humans, providing they are given an efficient sorting algorithm. Also, we can possibly emulate AI, but we won't be able to create a "self-aware" machine that has motivations any time soon.

This is pretty unusual on FunnyJunk.

Most people on here are "clueless kids" who only see the world in black and white.

I'm glad I've helped you to restore your faith in our kind. You seem to be a great conversation partner.

I actually have very weird opinions, especially when it comes to controversial things. It's a like a mix of extreme republican and extreme democrat views. I'm weird.

The people on here are very pathetic. I got in an argument with a guy over the fact that he was pretending to be smart by talking nonsense. He lost the argument and then went over every single comment of mine and downvoted it.

Most people on here blindly (pretend to) follow the crowd, hence the (unjustified) praising of Anonymous.

My conservative opinions are usually limited to vigilantism. Yes, in some cases it might be useful, but in most cases, it results from one's clouded judgment.

For example, I can't stand internet activists, especially groups like LulzSec who think they are making a difference. Yes, they've stirred up a little storm, but it didn't last very long. I fully support the arrests and raids.

What do you think about that?

I'm a bit different. As someone sharing a lot of psychopathic tendencies, I would be indifferent to an ongoing crime, and would probably observe it for the sake of that sick sense of joy. My best rationalization is that if I interfere I could be held liable in case something were to happen. That being said, I would fulfill my civil duty and report the crime to avoid possible charges for "failing to report a crime".

See? I'm very strange.

That's a great point, although I'm not too concerned with the existence of others. I assume everyone else exists because I'm able to perceive and distinguish them by physical appearance, personalities and behavioral traits. If my perception is false, it can't be any of my concern as there is not way to prove that.
