Not a fan of smurfs... so no thanks, I'd rather impale myself on the claw of a defiler

well, I used to paint like... 10 years ago, but I sucked back then. Then I got back into the hobby a few months ago with the launch of the DV box (because of the chaos miniatures...mmmh) so I just sat down and painted one DA just for the hell of it :p

The thing that helped me the most was watching tutorials on youtube. They helped more than I could have imagined.
#70 to #69 - nervehammer (02/27/2013) [-]
Ah ok. What about any marks from getting parts off sprues? i have a few that are really pissing me off..
User avatar #71 to #70 - BERTMGERT (02/27/2013) [-]
depends on the material. Are they metal, plastic, or resin?
User avatar #72 to #71 - nervehammer (02/27/2013) [-]
Plastic ones, the Dark vengenance Tactical squad. Also a **** up on a plastic libarians psysic hood.

there are different products out there that you can use to repair models, its like a puddy substance and when you fill in the patches use a fine file to get the blemishes taken care of. You should be able to buy a set for not to much money.

Thank you.

I love the way you used blue instead of the more usual colors :)

give them a smashing base and thats a good start :)

(really, making a good base makes a miniature pop)

This guy is my pride and joy.

A bit of practice and I am sure you can knock out some great minis :)

the trick is to NEVER settle for what you got

Very nice. Doing a pre-heresy DA army atm. Nice to see a DA player painting up some green marines, no just Deathwing and Ravenwing :)
User avatar #78 to #63 - bulwark (02/27/2013) [-]
Actually I am not much of a player :) I just paint

Everything was cooler before the Heresy. Even the Emperor's Children managed to look cool.

ive always wanted some of those figures just to muck around with, it looks so much fun. but id rather have something a little a little more 'real'
User avatar #61 to #60 - bulwark (02/26/2013) [-]
Well, I know the feeling, but once you get started and you paint that first really good miniature... well... that is one of the most real feelings to me :)

Nice paint job dude! I've been into the Warhammer Fantasy and 40k universe for quite some time now, and have wanted to get into the tabletop for as long as I've been involved, but damn is it so expensive. Hard to want to spend so much of my extra cash on only one thing to get decently into it.
User avatar #58 to #57 - bulwark (02/26/2013) [-]
I know the feeling bruh... It was tough for me to get started again aswell... but sooo worth it :)
User avatar #44 - blewws (02/26/2013) [-]
What is this? People post a bunch of pictures like this and I don't know what these things are.
User avatar #45 to #44 - bulwark (02/26/2013) [-]
it's Warhammer.

It is a hobby involving collection, assembling, painting and playing with these little miniatures. It is a table top warfare game, with dices, rulers and such. Great fun :)
User avatar #46 to #45 - blewws (02/26/2013) [-]
Oh cool! Thanks! Sounds like fun. But I would royally screw up the painting.
User avatar #47 to #46 - bulwark (02/26/2013) [-]
practice makes perfect :)
User avatar #40 - exorbis (02/26/2013) [-]
Good color tones !
I'm kinda curious if you did any Deathwing terminators ? Those are for me kinda hard to paint right...
User avatar #41 to #40 - bulwark (02/26/2013) [-]
I haven't gotten down to those guys yet :) may do one soon
#36 - flamingbricks (02/26/2013) [-]

User avatar #38 to #36 - bulwark (02/26/2013) [-]

******* awesome for a first new chapter add a bit of wash and it will look so good.
User avatar #31 to #30 - bulwark (02/26/2013) [-]
actually, he already had a wash, just after I finished the basecoat. I try not to wash them after the layers, highlights and details have been made, as it seems to make the miniatures fuzzy :p
User avatar #28 - jessexms (02/26/2013) [-]
Oh thats awsome man! I realy like the warhammer 40k stuff, but i never have to patience to paint these things ^^
User avatar #29 to #28 - bulwark (02/26/2013) [-]
I admit, it does take some time :) but it is worth it
