In DOW2, the rockets sort of blinked itself onto the launching racks for reloading phase, how do they reload the Deathstrike missile platform? RTB like a vanilla US Army?

Its that one shot and then its back to base to reload. Used to be on the tabletop, you had to reach a certain number, using a dice roll with modifiers for how long it had been making ready to fire, and how many times it had been hit.

The Manticore was better overall though.

Yes the Manticore is better since your guaranteed to actually fire for 4 turns but god damn when a Deathstrike goes off and your opponent doesn't understand spacing, it is a beautiful sight.

8th edition Imperial index 2 switches the deathstrike to 200 inches and the change is maintained in the imperial guard codex. Still extremely brutal whenever you fire something, 3d6 4+ mortal wounds with every unit within 6 inches getting D3 mortal wounds on a 4+, that's not including the stratagem that makes it even stronger.

Typically you won't see deathstrikes anywhere near combat zones since the missiles themselves are rated for intercontinental range. Make no mistake they are basically modern day ballistic nukes on tanks.

Necrons have a funny fellow that can march up to a Deathstrike and launch the single use missile on top against his own dudes. IG players hate that **** more than anything.
