Just remember, even if zombies are smart they aren't capable of learning since that requires strenuous brain activity. So even if they know how to climb ladders, open doors, avoid tripwires... anything they don't know how to do will be their downfall. Do zombies know how to identify traps well? no. Even if they are intelligent they will never be smart enough to not step on what looks like solid footing, so trapholes will be effective. They arent capable of suspicion so if you are out in the open they are coming for you in most likely the most direct path. Not to mention they aren't intelligent enough to hide if you begin raining fire down upon them from a scaffolding if they think they can get to you. So it would make a lot of things easier if they are undead. However the possessed and diseased can be as intelligent as normal humans and capable of learning, so it would just be a matter of you being capable of outsmarting a person, which isnt difficult at all either. Zombie apocalypses are for the intelligent, athleticism is icing on the cake. The best groups of survivors would consist of three highly intelligent people and two people for brawn. This is because if the brawn equals or surpasses the intelligent they will try to get their ideas on the roll, and that can only be detrimental in relation. This is also what is currently happening to our society, we have more idiots than smart people so the idiots want to make sure everything stays understandable to them, handing the reigns over to someone smarter than you is against human nature though to be fair... but i digress. In times of a zombie apocalypse find the smartest most trustworthy person you know, that makes you the brawn. or find the brawn, that makes you the smartest. but always remember, if youre the smartest then everything is limited to your mental capabilities. And also remember, the dumber someone is the smarter they think they are and the more assured of themselves they are. be wary

Where the **** is 28 Days later?
Without a doubt the best zombie film. Obviously we'd all be pretty ******, but still, the fact it's missing pisses me off.

Personally speaking, if a "Zombie" has a heart beat, such as in 28 days later they are still alive and not a Zombie. You could theoretically still cure them/hit them with tranquilizers.

actually the zombies in the 1968 Night of the Living Dead were quite smart, the used rocks to smash the headlights on a car because they hate bright light and one uses a rock to brake into a car which Barbara is trying to escape in.
Just saying..

That makes them at least as smart as chimps. So I agree with you

And definitely way more intelligent than the Dawn of the Dead ones, they never used tools like rocks to get into the mall. But god damn were they slow

walkser are pretty smart, as seen in the most recent episode they are able to find small openings and open them further to get in. they are slow but at night they are more active so they would be above planet terror in my opinion

I believe in the walking dead there were a few points made about the walkers:
-The walkers are slower during the day and more active at night (no real reason given)
-The longer a walker goes without food the slower it gets
-Cold slows them down (this may not have been in the walking dead)
There have been other things mentioned in both the show and comics but I can't recall them off the top of my head.

First of all walkers are "diseased"

they are pretty dumb. they have no logic nor communication.

they can walk pretty decent. not really running, but fast enough to catch an injured person.

my opinion is [pic] .. maybe i forgot some scened where i get disproved.. i am open for other opinions

Is it just me, or do they seem slower in the new episode?

back in the first season in Atlanta they were pretty fast and strong .. in the new season they walk like sloths or something. maybe they get weaker after long time without eating. hope they explain it in the new episodes.

Like, I was just thinking, during the night when they had the huge gun fight that lasted quite a while, I expected there to be a whole horde of walkers at the gate, since almost all of the other shots of the town had at least a few walkers wandering around. They're attracted mainly by sound, and after all that gun fire, there should have been a hell of a lot more. I guess it was just convenient for the plot.
