The walking dead bugs me. It would take so bloody long for the worlds governments to fall in a zombie apocalypse. And even then, a vast amount of people would survive on the worlds oceans. Then the zombies would decompose and fall to bits and freeze in the winter as they have no body heat.

Also who is cutting all the grass?
User avatar #11 to #3 - roflsaucer (03/13/2013) [-]
The thing about The Walking Dead is it's pretty much based on the fact that the idea of a "Zombie" has never once been thought about before the whole thing happened. In the face of mass panic and mob mentality, a government wouldn't do **** . Especially when the reason you're flipping out are ******* WALKING CORPSES.
User avatar #13 to #11 - pseudobob **User deleted account** (03/13/2013) [-]
Special divisions of the American government, especially whichever one was involved with Special Projects (aka Area 51) have designed hypothetical contingencies for everything, up to and including alien invasion. Zombies ain't nothin'.

In the case of Walking Dead zombies, that are both infectious and sub-human in capability (weak, slow, stupid), the 'crisis' would be over in like a day.

Max Brooks zombies, on the other hand...
User avatar #22 to #13 - gammajk (03/13/2013) [-]
I like Max Brooks's zombies because they are way more resilient than any other zombie I've ever seen, for example walking across the ocean floor and crossing the entire ocean that way, or freezing all through winter and being completely fine.
User avatar #21 to #13 - bluegoose (03/13/2013) [-]
no because everyone in walkin dead is already infected. so when heathy people died they came back and ate someone. think about how many people die every minute. also it could easily be found out later that they are in some large quarantine and we just dont know.
User avatar #14 to #13 - roflsaucer (03/13/2013) [-]
Again, I said in The Walking Dead the idea of a "Zombie" has NEVER once been thought about. How can they have a plan for something they didn't think about?
User avatar #15 to #14 - pseudobob **User deleted account** (03/13/2013) [-]
If this is a plot point, maybe. But how do the zombies in TWD spread? Is it a bodily-fluid type thing or an airborne virus?
User avatar #18 to #15 - roflsaucer (03/13/2013) [-]
Everyone's infected, you just have to die. Cause of death is irrelevant. If the brain is intact, zombie.

And I understood that a zombie apocalypse is impossible in real life, since everyone knows what a zombie is.
User avatar #33 to #18 - newsmyrna (03/13/2013) [-]
people die stab them in the head then cremation problem solved
User avatar #34 to #33 - amegaara (03/13/2013) [-]
yeah you are going to be there when EVERY SINGLE HUMAN ON EARTH dies right? you talk nonsense boi
User avatar #36 to #34 - newsmyrna (03/13/2013) [-]
sure there will be a few stranglers that is what guns are for shoot them in the head then burn them they have to get close to you to infect you biting is a really inconvenient way to transmit disease.
User avatar #37 to #36 - amegaara (03/13/2013) [-]
dude dude dude

do you even read?

the guy before me said that in the show everyone in the whole wide world is infected EVERYONE no exception. no one is "not infected" so its not bites that make you a zombie its good old dying
User avatar #39 to #37 - newsmyrna (03/13/2013) [-]
Ok so if a zombie bites you in this universe you don't become one unless you die. I honestly don't know I don't watch the show.
User avatar #16 to #15 - garrettjacobsen (03/13/2013) [-]
Everyone is already infected. At death they turn, and bites caused severe infections which kill the victim.
User avatar #17 to #16 - pseudobob **User deleted account** (03/13/2013) [-]
So it's sort of like Dawn of the Dead, then.

Which is equally unbelievable, but better thematically than pretty much everything else.

why bring logic into zombies
User avatar #4 to #3 - garrettjacobsen (03/13/2013) [-]
In the Squawking Red, everyone who dies with an intact brain becomes a zombie. People out on the sea in boats or on islands would not be safe if other's were there, and even alone, eventually would die and become a zombie.

And thousands of mexican zombies illegally immigrate into the US each year and cut the grass.

I realise that, but i just feel that the governments of the world wouldn't be as useless as they are made out to be. Zombie population would thin out over time as they rotted away and the people on ships would be safer. They'd have an easy dead disposal system too of throwing them overboard before they turn.

I'm thinking of World War Z, were the government does retreat onto ships.
User avatar #20 to #6 - garrettjacobsen (03/13/2013) [-]
There are two problems with the boat theory.
Every individual's turning time is different. One may may take a week to turn while another turns in seconds. They would never be able to prepare fully for disposable without shooting everyone with any kind of illness or wound, which a group of people would generally detest.
And all those people on the ships would turn eventually anyway. In the series, everyone is doomed. There is no survival, there is no salvation. It is literally the end of humanity.
